either they are all being coy in their interview about the QB situation, the race is truly even and you will be good with either chosen, or you don't have a true leader emerging at that position yet.

Are any of you feeling uncomfortable, or do you feel things will work out?

The plus side is you have a stellar running game to help the starter get comfortable, but do you have a guy that can provide enough in the pass game to help the run when it gets bogged down?

have you not read this board the last 8 months?

Our QB situation sucks. Brice Ramsey will likely start, and he's looked like dog shite most of his snaps. We also have a transfer who sucked at an ACC school. It's a point of concern, nobody is being coy or sandbagging. We legitimately don't feel good about QB. There's nothign else to say ,.

Why so pissy?

I am listening to your players as I wrote that and was curious. No I don't pay attention to every thread concerning UGA. There was nothing antagonistic or troll worthy for you to respond like an arse.

Thanks for adding some info through all the anger.

Understood, but I was sincerely inquiring as I was not aware your QB situation was so tough.

Thank you

I dont think WG was being pissy at all...he was being honest imo and not sarcastic.

It does amaze me that UGA, Bama, Ole Miss, LSU all have some issues at qb and yet UF is rated low in the east due to or partly because of qb issues?

I understand the run game at UGA is formidable and helps your offense a lot...but a team with good front seven can stack the line and force throws....ditto LSU and others, hell Ole Miss doesnt even have a good run game.

Predictions are like elbows...everybody has a couple.

Problem is that the difference between the two deeps at UGA/Bama/LSU vs UF is so massive that QB doesn't even factor into it IMO. With Ivey out you might not have three players who would start at Bama.

You could have Tim Tebow back there and your team will still be back of the pack in the east and I say that as someone who sincerely hopes that McElwain gets it done in Gainesville.

I appreciate your dim outlook

However, we dont need that much offense to win at UF...we do have a great defense that can match up with Bama or LSU etc etc. We were a dropped easy pass in the end zone against LSU from beating them, 2 special teams blunders that let USC block 2 kicks...and I can name even more. Bama & Mizzou both beat our azzs...but thats it. Given a slightly better offense...we can definitely win games. Color me not worried.

Its ok to be out of the top 25...we laying in the cut. Remember last year Sporting News had OU as #1 and USC was ranked preseason top ten. Rankings and predictions are all interesting and gives the media something to keep viewers/readers attentions and sell soap.

I am now officially in game week mode and my demeanor will change to calm, friendly and I wont bash anyone for a while...until the hillbillies come a calling.

Why are these mutually exclusive? I'm sure Richt has his favorite but it could go down the drain when the guy starts 0-3 with an INT next Saturday. I am in the camp of them all being even in their above averageness with none really taking the position instead of all being so terrible we aren't sure which is least worse.

I don't share WG's concern at this moment. I may after the first game or two, but not yet.

I think Ramsey is the guy. I think he's more than capable of being very good. If we weren't breaking in new OC who had a clean slate, then I think he would have been announced as the starter a while back.

I also think Lambert is at least competent. Really liked him coming out of high school. He obviously had struggles previously in his career. I can understand that given he was at UVA with London. He'll at least play in the first couple games. May even outperform Ramsey and take the reins.

It's nice that we open with ULM and @ Vandy. Two walks and one is an SEC game on the road. USCe shouldn't be a world beater, but will be a test in week 3. By the time UF, AU and GT roll around we'll know where we stand. We return 4/5 OL and arguably the best RBs in the conference. Our D and the rushing attack should be able to carry us through week 4. Richt has had quality QB play for his entire coaching career. I can't imagine that randomly changing. There are reasons for optimism.

Contrarily, we're inexperienced at WR outside of Malcolm Mitchell and he hasn't stayed healthy through his career. We have some other guys who have played, but none that have been THE guy. We may get into the meat of the schedule (Bama, @UT and Mizzou in consecutive weeks) with remaining questions. Scary thought. I would suspect whoever the starter is to struggle in Neyland.

I'm going to withhold judgment until after the USCe game. If QB play is above average then I suspect this team will be very good. If it's mediocre, then we'll be similar to last year, maybe a bit worse. Goal #1 should be protecting the ball. A close second should be showcasing the ability to stretch the field to allow Chubb, Michel and Marshall room to work underneath.

We have two games to figure it out not really worried, unless we get through those 2 games and all 3 suck.

When Chubb was asked about it, I could sense an urgency in finding one to breakout and lead based on his answer. I know not a big stretch, but since this was my first time hearing Chubb speak made me wonder and ask the question.

Some of you may be right that it will take a game for one to show through. Anyway, thanks for the opinions and info. This will be an interesting and fun season. Good luck in the season.

If Mike Leach was our OC, Bauta would be the guy and he would make 5 yard passes to Crabtree all game. Since we need someone who can air it out, Ramsey and Lambert will battle it out against ULM for the start @Vandy.

On the radio? Got a link to that response? Being your first time hearing him speak, I doubt you know what Chubb's normal demeanor is, which means you cant accurately infer what his feelings were. With that said, it would be great to know who our Qb will be, but a little competition for the job is healthy, right? I think its Ramsey with the NFL arm.

I'm excited about Greyson Lambert.

I think he'll start, and am hopeful he performs well with a good offensive line and new coaching.

Really? Which is why I made the very comment you quoted and why I made the thread. I wanted to see if I interpreted what I heard correctly. Am I being punked? Is there a camera behind my screen? Is this my buddy drew tricking with me.

I don't have a link. It was on Sirius College Sports and they are hitting all the schools and doing a preview. Of the teams Talking to coaches and players. They had UGA on yesterday.
