1. Chaney cannot score in the 4th quarter when it matters...

- Arkansas was tied 21-21 with Auburn at the half. Arkansas did not score a point in the fourth quarter, nor the 3rd. Chaney went away from a rushing game that ran for 140 yards in the first half.

- Arkansas led aTm 21-14 at the half. Chaney again could not produce a single point in the second half, including the 4th quarter. aTm won in OT.

- Arkansas led Alabama 13-7 going into the 4th quarter. Again, no points in the fourth quarter to seal the Razorbacks fate. Alabama won 14-13.

- Arkansas led #1 Miss State 10-7 at the half. Chaney again decides passing may be the better option over a run game that rushed for over 100 yards in the first half. Arkansas doesn't score a point in the second half. State wins, 17-10

- Arkansas leads at Mizzou 14-6. Arkansas is controlling the game on the ground. Brandon Allen is banged up, but Chaney leaves him in. You guessed it...Arkansas doesn't score a point in the second half and loses 21-14.

The biggest knock Arkansas fans always had against Chaney, was his lack of a few things....
1. Doesn't make adjustments at halftime. Cannot score points in the second half, but particularly the fourth quarter.

2. Lives and dies by the go route. Will not pass over the middle on crossing routes. Go routes are his go to play. It doesn't matter if it is 3rd and 1. Go route is coming.

3. Thinks he is smarter than he is...Last season he ran a reverse near the goal line on 3rd down to TE AJ Derby. Quite the head scratcher.

4. Would rather pass inside the 5 yard line than run. It didn't matter that Arkansas had a powerful Oline, he wanted to call a pass. Not sure his thought process.

So, there are a few things you can take away from his stint at Arkansas.

In his two seasons as OC at Arkansas, Chaney scored a whopping 37 points in the 4th quarters of 16 SEC games.

Chaney will have a new QB, Nick Chubb, and Sony Michel next year, and he will still call plays like he's at Purdue in the 90s.

He had Jonathan Williams, Alex Collins, Hunter Henry, Brandon Allen, a massive OLine, Keon Hatcher, Drew Morgan, Jared Cornelius, and he ran a reverse to AJ Derby.

And Jeremy Sprinkle. That was the most WTF play call ever.

I find it hilarious that you couldn't post this in one of the 1000 other threads. Just more material to bookmark.

Between UT and Arkansas, there are a lot of fans on this board who can give insight to Jim Chaney as an offensive coordinator in the SEC. Maybe it works out, but it does seem to be a strange hire.

Why are Arkansas fans so bitter about this? Reminds me a lot of Florida fans and Muschamp. You view him as a failure, so why do you care where he ends up or how his new fanbase receives him?

Because it's a message board and there is nothing else to talk about today.

I dunno. I think the acrimony here is nowhere near the level Florida fans have for Muschamp.

I think it is just viewed as disappointing, especially since some of their guys had been led to believe they would get the guy from Notre Dame.

We will miss Pittman. This hire did get them Pittman to leave us.

And I don't know if a lot of this is coming from a place of anger. Mostly makes us feel pretty good about our standing. When for years people say "You're not part of the Big 6 like Georgia and Auburn and people..." And then you laugh as those people take the coaches you fired while hoping to improve... It makes you feel pretty good.

I just think it's hilarious to watch them try and find a silver lining.

No bitterness regarding Chaney. Just giving you all a heads up. Just remember our words in a year or two.

Only thing a little unfortunate about it is that he and Pittman are such good buddies and Chaney IS the reason Pittman left Arkansas. It wasn't money, it wasn't that he wasn't wanted at Arkansas... it was purely Chaney.

In fact, it's so head scratching for y'all to hire Chaney that I think it's plausible that you hired Chaney solely TO get Pittman??

Well when you have Bielema shite like that was allowed to happen. CKS aint going to let Chaney run loose like Bielema allowed him to do. CKS is about to have absolute monsters in the trenches on both sides of the ball, that's where the war is won.

I think that's exactly what happened. First Smart tried to hire Enos, but that couldn't happen, so he goes after the next biggest cog in our offense in Pittman. How else can you explain Chaney? Chaney and Enos are apples and oranges different, so it's obvious that Smart didn't care about getting the wrong fruit, as long as it got him Pittman.

Here are a few things UGA fans will learn about Chaney:

1. He'll do the opposite of what you expect so much that it becomes predictable and defenses will expect it. When he runs a trick play, it's not considered a trick, because everyone knows it's coming.

2. Whatever worked in the first half, won't be seen in the 2nd.

3. When the game is on the line, he'll turn to the passing game. Doesn't matter if it's been shut down all game and the running game is red hot. He'll still turn to the passing game for all those 3 and short plays inside the red zone.

And, he'll do it despite having an awful QB, because he's a terrible QB coach. You'll also need to talk him into letting you hire a QB coach or you should expect to have bad quarterbacks.

4. To not expect any 2nd half offense.

5. That you'll need to buy a good head scratcher that can withstand much use.
