The Belmont Bruins, formerly the Rebels, are not to be taken lightly. But Bulldogs should prevail if they stay focused. Stay tuned for future analysis regarding this critical game of National significance.

We get High Point. Then GT or Houston, which we'll probably lose

SC vs GT would be a fun matchup. Georges-Hunt and their 2 bigs against Thornwell, Carrera and your big men. I like that matchup in your favor honestly. NIT mostly comes down to who is focused and wanting to be there.

We don't want to be there when we thought we'd be NCAAT all year.

Lmao.

Really? You thought you'd be at the NCAAT all year?

That's some serious delusion. There were points in the season where you were bound and I think you even got snubbed but I or anyone that follows basketball wouldnt have called you a tournament team at every point in the year.

Undefeated in OOC
Ranked for portions of the year
Won @ top 10 A&M
Beat LSU when we thought that mattered
Finished 3rd in conference
Tied for first in conference play with 2 weeks to go.

Say what you want, but there is no reason why we wouldn't have thought we were in for most of the year.

Hope we beat South Carolina for a 4th time and take home the crown. That. Would. Be. Epic.

Until roughly 1/3 of the way through the season you hadn't won any game of note. Your best win was Tulsa. (You know the team that everyone is wondering why the hell they're in instead of Monmouth) Undefeated at 12-0 or not, literally everyone with functional brain cells was still questioning whether the team was any good or not. I'd say at that point not many people were expecting SC to be in the tournament. Thinking you had a chance? Sure... but not expecting. Particularly given the last few seasons of historical evidence.

The season played out as one might have expected and while you had some ok wins, losing 3 times to a team that didn't make the dance is pretty damning evidence against the schedule. Glad we could help give the committee some perspective. Ultimately you guys had a great season, probably got a little jobbed, but this idea that you were a MBB powerhouse all season long and never were on the outside looking in at the tournament is either sheer delusion on your part or you're just trying to play it cool.

Not true, they squeaked by Miss State at their house. Huge win if you ask me.

A powerhouse? You think us believing we were a top 40ish team (once you take out the auto bids) is saying we're a powerhouse? Again, no school on this planet is not going to be excited or think they're not going to be in the tournament for most of the year when they start out 17-0, win 11 conference games (after most on here predicted 8 wins or fewer), a win over a top 10 team, wins over teams that were thought to be NCAA worthy at the time (UF and LSU), in first place with 2 weeks to go, and a 3rd place finish overall.

No one is saying we're a powerhouse. That's not what we're talking about. But given what I said above there is no reason to think we wouldn't make a field of over 60 teams.

Actually many of us tried to be helpful and point out that your SOS was of great concern to your NCAAT bid prospects.

This help was offered in most of the USC bragging about beating up on cupcakes after every cupcake win.

Cocks didn't want to hear it though understandably.
