People here are probably gonna think UGA is scared or other such message board nonsense, but when you actually read that 9 page letter it's pretty eye opening. This is not even close to jsut "the local paper is reporting bad stuff abotu us and we don't like it", and is more so "this paper is blatantly making things up or intentionally misrepresenting facts to conjure up a story where one doesn't really exist".

Misrepresenting facts or maybe just a little misleading? I say it could be slightly misleading, but only because of the title of the article.
They give the facts. You can’t avoid the fact that players have been cited and involved with racing and that there was a staff member and 2 players involved in racing while intoxicated that resulted in death.
It’s a culture thing. You get away with things at Georgia. That’s fact. I’m sure if the newspaper dug enough, they could find equivalent cases where players were let go at other programs for similar acts. Not to mention, the paper doesn’t even go into the corruptness of APD letting players go scot-free without any citations or arrests. The newspaper isn’t playing with that one, but I bet they could deep dive if UGA pushes hard enough.
I’m interested to see how AJC doubles down on this. UGA is playing with fire, this could really blow up in its face.

I'd love to see Georgia ban AJC from all UGA related events!

For frick's sake. UGA should be grateful they don't share a state and media system with bama. The AJC has nothing on al.com's constant trashing of Auburn.

This primarily relates to the sexual assault culture article, not the speeding reporting.

I glimpsed at it. It’s clearly self serving, so no reason to dive into it.
UGA doesn’t like bad things written about them. Period. This will go no where for them and just fan the flame.
Kirby has now become Urban 2.0. And we’re not talking about football results.

The letter specifically says they referred to the tragedy on January 15th.
Did you guys even read your own damn self serving letter?

So maybe no fabrications?
That is not a really strong way to start the letter.
Although I have to say I love that the university is entering into a mudslinging campaign with the largest newspaper in the region. You know the AJC is loving it. All they want is attention.

The letter is not asking for a retraction of any article related to that tragedy, you simpleton.

And that's probably about all you read since the other parts don't fit the narrative you want.

Just Lawyer doing what he should. Article was yellow journalism at its finest. Retraction likely won’t happen or matter if it does.

Give me a minute, geeze Louise! I never took the Evelyn Woodhead speed reading course.
Also I don't have a narrative. I hate the AJC and UGA both.

Define your “similar acts.”

So you are admitting you commented on it without reading it all. Brilliant!!!
