When students don't even show up to watch Bama annihilate Auburn, you've got a trend.

Kind of like one of my buddies as a kid
his FAVORITE teams were:
1 - Yankees
2 - Cowboys
3 - Lakers
I grew up a Bama fan, still am one. I went to college at Miss State, like my dad.
I was a Yankees fan - during the Mattingly era. My wife grew up as one, so I cheer for them now, along with the Orioles (because my sister-in-law is one). I have never cared for the Cowboys (Falcons) or the Lakers (never cared for the NBA).

Football is more of a social event to many students now.
USC has had a really really bad issue with our student section. A lot of players and recruits were calling out the students after the Vanderbilt game. The section is usually around 50% empty by the 2nd half kickoff and 80% empty by the middle of the 4th quarter if we have a lead.
