Dawgs on top....you wouldn't take a competitive 10 point loss in Gainesville as a victory?

No, I would take winning as a victory. I'll be satisfied with us being competitive, but I almost never take losing as a victory. And definitely never take a 20 point loss as a victory.

That's okay. We have two different expectations. If this game were at home I'd Agree with you but as I said earlier when we play at Florida our average defeat is around 25 pts.

I went to the game last year (think we lost by around 15) and it felt like they made everything from the outside. Felt like we were much more competitive than that and I'm hoping we can improve upon that result.

I'm not saying I'll be overly disappointed if we lose by 15-20, just that I won't count that as a victory. But we're both rooting for the correct team and that's what matters most

Im with DawgsOnTop....a win is getting a win, that will be the only thing that helps us get in the tourney. Losing close on the road to a ranked team doesn't get you into the tourney.

Seriously? That's the attitude that explains why our fan base sucks! I didn't realize we could only get excited when we are in the top 25 and for sure in the dance. I didn't get the memo that we should not support our team like real fans while they are trying to get there.

You get excited for losses less than 20 points which is probably worse

our fanbase sucks because similar to kentucky in football, there is no real hope for anything meaningful and we know that already going into the season regardless of how good we're supposed to be. Our ceiling is essentially luckign into 1 win in the NCAAt and that's never going to change with the current coach.

that's hyperbole, we do get excited. Just not for moral victories and typically not heading into games that we know we're gonna get pummeled.

"support" as in make positive posts on message boards? What we type on SECRant doesn't make any difference at all in the support of the program.

WG that was not directed at you. The guy said our team has given us nothing to get excited about. Like we aren't on the cusp of stepping forward.

Last year we lost by 17 but I don't recall anything from the game. All the years of disastrous play has been lumped into one large memory of turnovers and the like

can you really blame our fans though? There's a VERY, VERY SMALL group of fans that have closely followed the team for 10, 15, 20+ years...and an even SMALLER amount of that group posts on message baords.

The average "UGA basketball fan" is well within reason to be down on the team because all they've seen from the program the last 15 years is disappointment. and we've been "on teh cusp" for years now, and I fear we will remain on the cusp permanently until we get new coaching.
