Why?

Can anyone attest to Tuscaloosa’s whereabouts today?

If I had to guess, it's so the tiny schools aren't disadvantaged if they can't afford good travel

Yeah, most schools don’t make money off basketball so the ncaa should pay for their travel, imo.

Heaven knows they’ve got plenty of money.

Damn NCAA dropping the ball. They must have some contracts that prevent them from utilizing a different source. Really pathetic in a case like this. I guarantee you someone could get them a plane

Right. I'm sure Uconn has some rich alumni with private jets.

"but it isn't scheduled to take off from Bradley Airport until sometime around 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday night"

Interesting. When I lived in Ct., I flew back from Ga. & landing ~10 PM had Bradley Airport basically closed for the night.

It's an NCAA Invitational. I don't think any school, ever, has paid to attend.

I just wonder why the article doesn’t mention which airline is responsible…media favoritism at its finest.

I guarantee one thing. It’s not United Airlines b/c they’d be shitting all over them. TRUTH

When you hear money totals for the NCAA, it's referring to all the schools of the NCAA, not the organization itself. They aren't making and pocketing billions of dollars every year, that's what the schools are getting.

Just like when they say the NCAA spends like $3.2 billion per year on scholarships, they are also referring to all the schools who give out scholarships for sports, not the actual NCAA organization.

When it comes to basketball, I don't know the details, but the tourney money goes through the NCAA and then gets distributed to the teams. The NCAA keeps a "small portion" of it to fund itself. In FBS football, they aren't involved at all, but it still counts in that total.

Basically, the NCAA = the schools in that context.
