Wow, your thread title has absolutely nothing to do with the excerpts you quoted from the article. Saying that raising SAT requirements would hurt a team's on-field performance is not ripping the school's standards. It's simply stating a fact that is obvious regardless of the school in question or what their current requirements are.

Just for clarification, it wasn't (my thread title), it was the sports writers, and read again UCLA's QB's response to the writer the beginning, he wasn't responding to my characterization.
Once again misfiring, wrongly attacking LSU fans not the real culprit, the writer.

I love the fact that an LSU fan was stupid enough to start a thread and not understand what he was referring to. He used Alabama because as of this age they are the standard of success. Nor is he comparing UCLA standards or any other school standards. This is about the notion that college athletics are not about STUDENT athletes. It is about preparation for the NFL. I think he is laying the ground work for player receiving monetary coompensation for playing and let's drop the student part or if it's really going to be about student athletes then raise the SAT or academic enrollment standards and create another opportunity for athletes to be noticed by NFL teams similar to what you have in baseball.
