Bama fans were pumping Ely hard not too long ago

Um, no. One look at him in his first spring and it was obvious he didn't have the arm strength. He could have managed the game after a few years in the program, but he was never going to be able to run our offense like McElroy or McCarron.

Dont be a dick man. The kid came to Alabama knowing it would be tough competition. Backups play a key role in practice and work just as hard as starters.

For a couple of years when I coached my son in summer baseball I tried to get the kids to vote mud hens as team mascot. Never happened. Guess they didn't like Klinger.

I would hope not. Kid got 2 rings in 2 years.

I doubt he gives any fricks about two rings he didn't help win.

If anything it's a reminder of how he was not good enough to be a major contributor.

That would be a shitty way of looking at it considering he was busting his butt in practice everyday helping the 1st string D get ready for whomever they were playing the next week. A lot more goes into winning games than the 4 hours we see on Saturdays

He was a major contributor, and had to be fricking tough as nails to go up against the #1 defense every day in practice. It's hard to supplant a QB with AJ's experience and knowledge after he's won back to back NC's.

Good luck to the kid, RTR Phillip.

Bad news about Sims yesterday, ineligible at UVA.

No he isn't. He is at Akron.

Matt Campbell is the coach at Toledo.

Good luck and Roll Tide to Phillip!

The number of people I've seen wearing NC rings for teams that they didn't contribute on says otherwise.
