I don't think they really want a presence there for football. At the lowest end of D-1 and trying to have FBS football, you can't be too picky. UALR has been in the conference for 25+ years. They used to have FB only members, but UALR has been there for a while and are just adding FB again. I think the same thing happened when Texas State started football.
