I always thought UALR should have a football team.
There's room for another in the state.
Got a stadium ready, great tailgating available...
I say do it.

WarAlude How is this alter even allowed to post for this long???

I don't know about ASU smoking UA. But I do believe it would have been a close contest the last couple of years.

I rarely agree with Hawg... er, excuse me, WARalude, but he is actually hitting closer to the truth on these posts than most want to think.

UALR could take root and siphon off some money, ASU too far.

UofA would NEVER let UALR start a football team precisely because of this. UofA doesn't want to play in LR, but they don't want anybody else to either.

Ualr shares a lot of resources with Fayetteville and I am sure they would fight or should fight a collegiate central Arkansas program. However, WMS is close to UAMS and some other program should and will replace those games be it semi pro ball clubs or a sunbelt team. Long wants the money from the razorbacks so he can continue to get raises all the while another program in this area would fill the gap left by the Razorbacks pulling out of the market. I think this would also put a little less pressure on long and the Razorbacks. From Pepsi to coke, traditional razorback red to steal grey uniforms, on to the longest losing streak in razorback history.

It is time for things to change and since Long said he is not familiar with your traditions. It is time to start some new ones.

The University of Central Arkansas has the potential to benefit from this. They are independent from the U of A and already field pretty good men and women's programs. They are next to Little Rock in one of the fastest growing cities in the state. It wouldn't be a stretch for them to be a sun belt caliber team pretty quick.
