As far as football goes, I think A&M's biggest accomplishments were more focused on their status within the state of Texas. They've jumped both OU and Texas as the #1 destination choice for Texas HS athletes (even if it's only temporary in the case of UT). I mean, they are racking up top 10 recruiting classes now, which they wouldn't have done in the Big 12. They have also received more national publicity than Mizzou, despite Mizzou winning the SEC East last year.

I don't know who accomplished more in the other sports, since neither did anything very memorable that I'm aware of.

Football only? I'd give the nod to Mizzou w/ their win of the East last year. The Heisman might be flashier, but the East win is more of a team accomplishment. Though A&M has been more consistently good due to Mizzou's stumble in 2012.

All sports? Easily A&M, with multiple national championships in outdoor Track and Field. A&M is #11 so far in this year's Director's Cup, while Mizzou is #45.

Football is pretty damn even. Mizzou's east championship probably gives them a slight edge. We have a better winning percentage and that extra bowl berth, both have a #5 finish in the polls I believe. We have also split our two matchups head to head. It depends on what you value more, but the difference isn't great.

In the other two sports neither has really done much of anything

Basketball we are bad, like right around 500 I believe while Mizzou has one tourney appearance with an early exit

Baseball Mizzou is bad while we have two regional appearances, which isn't anything to celebrate.

The rest of the sports overall we are probably better because of how much we put into them but WGAS. They don't move the needle as far as reputation. It's really close to dead even, with a slight edge to Mizzou for winning the east last year

In all sports, we have more SEC championships and National championships in the past 2 years.

SEC CHAMP -

Women's soccer tournament(2013)
women's basketball tournament (2013)
women's tennis reg season (2013)
women's outdoor track (2013)

NATIONAL TITLES -

Men's outdoor track (2013)
women's outdoor track (2014)

MIZZOU has 1 SEC championship in volleyball, and 0 National championships. So you're right, it's not even close.

We win.

A&M couldn't even beat Missouri. What makes you think they would have won the east over them?

Damn....this is twice in 1 year that I'm agreeing with you

I'd say A&M, but by a slim margin. Neither of them has actually won anything. So, after figuring that, you gotta go with, "who's brought the most visibility to the conference?" The easy answer is A&M.

JFF, Matthews, Evans were all first round picks in football. A&M was one of the must-see teams to watch. Mizzou brought visibility by winning a terrible East (though, they did beat A&M), and the spotlight of Michael Sam.

I'd say both did their part to bring visibility to the conference in football, with A&M having the slight edge. Honestly, the both had more value in that aspect than Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Kentucky, Vanderbilt and Arkansas have had in a while.

In baseball (which, really is a niche national sport), Mizzou might as well play softball. Edge to A&M. In basketball, I'm actually quite dissapointed in Mizzou in particular, as that program should have been the biggest asset to the conference.

Doesn't matter record books will still say Mizzou won the east. Makes no difference if it was down or not.

We both care about football/basketball, but we value the other sports differently. Example: we won a national championship this year in wrestling, but the SEC doesn't even do that.

However, I don't think this necessarily needs to be a competition between the two new schools, we've both brought good things to the table and have made positive impacts on the conference (outside of scheduling).

Winning the east is a greater football accomplishment than anything A&M has done. Plus head to head they beat A&M. Exposure wise it isn't close but from a fan perspective exposure doesn't mean much. We don't work at the SEC offices.
