I do. But if not mistaken they don't refer to them as championships until 92

We referred to the team with the most SEC wins as SEC Champions. Then co champions for teams with the same number of conference wins. For Example, in 1989 Bama, UT, and Auburn were all crowned co-champions. If I am not mistaken.

MSU's last SEC-championship in football was 1941. Tulane? 1949.

This is truly shocking to me. I am shocked and surprised to see that MSU has ever been crowned as SEC champions.

In those days all a team had to do get a share of national championship was finish number 1 in one of the polls. Bama was selected number 1 by the Houlgate system, which was considered a major poll at that time. It is true the way things were done sucked back then, and that is why they had to change. If that team had played by today's rules, they probably would not have been selected to the playoffs, but the thing is they played under the rules of the time they played. And under those rules, Bama was a co champion.

True... but it is a bait-n-switch argument. His response has nothing to do with the discussion

But Bama didn't claim that championship for about 40 years.

Strange because Bama had two losses that year, one was getting shut out to MSU who had a better record.

What I'd like to know is the year before. MSU did not lose a game that year.

Well, it IS common knowledge on here. We've all seen the pic of your 1983 media guide with only 6 titles and then all of a sudden jumped to 11 the next year. I suspect it had something to do with trumping Notre Dame's claims at the time.

true but they were recognized, and the school didn't "officially" claim any until after Bear died. You are implying that the school made them up, but they just claimed the years that Bama finished number one in one of the major polls. Man I don't care who recognizes the 1941 Champions. Just telling you why it is.
