quote:I actually agree, but I am going to remain skeptical of his quarterbacking abilities until he plays well against a good defense. It's going to hurt losing the left tackle unless Dontavius Blair can step in and improve.
By his standards, Worley played lights out Sunday night. It was Utah State, but defense was allegedly the strength of their team.
If Just Worley can keep it up, he has plenty of weapons at his disposal.

What do these stats have to do with anything? The OP admits that this year's production isn't even one of the factors in his ranking. I.e., it's a troll thread, bro.

I'll take an honorable mention for Cody Core. 2-star kid showed out this week.
If he can keep it up our passing attack will be damn near unstoppable.

Regarding Sammie Coates ranking, I don't think one game puts him out of the running. He's still one of the best wide receivers in the SEC, regardless of what happened in week 1. If his lack of statistical contributions continue, he will be dropped, however. He has to start putting up some stats.

Well, get your shite together.

Coates is still an elite SEC receiver. If Alabama can be top 5 in the country despite tanking at the end of the year and then opening up in moderately weak fashion against WVU, Coates can be a top 5 WR for another week.

The following is taken into account: the type of offense said player is in, stats in past years, opponent, overall ability (measurables) and a little subjective reasoning.

Honorable mention: Travin Dural (LSU), De'Runya Wilson (Mississippi State), Ricky Seals-Jones (Texas A&M), Cody Core (Ole Miss), DeAndrew White (Alabama) and Nick Jones (South Carolina).
If these two are a part of the equation, Jameon Lewis for MSU should, not only be in Honorable Mention, but should be above all of these guys, especially Dural, Wilson, Seals-Jones, Core, White, and Jones.
See what I did there?

Is it to early to link the pre-season thread where I said Duke Williams would be the best WR in the SEC this year? It was followed by many people calling me stupid.... LOL

My only qualm is that you made it a point to replicate WDE24's style of thread, but not the criteria. I think that is why it is confusing as to why Coates is listed at all.

quote:Yea, one bad game can't take him out of my ranking. It was painfully obvious that Nick Marshall and Jeremy Johnson were targeting DeAngelo Benton 2.0 as their #1, and progressing to Sammie Coates later. He had limited opportunities in the game, although he definitely should have caught that touchdown pass from Nick Marshall.
Coates is still an elite SEC receiver

Jameon Lewis for MSU

Yeah, he was one of the best in the conference the minute he stepped foot on Auburn's campus.

If Amari isn't 1 the list is flawed.

You should use wde24's RB criteria. It is better suited for what you are trying to do here. You still get negative responses, but they become funny because they don't pay attention. jmo.
eta: I know you are showing who you feel are the best WR's of the SEC, but I like the way wde does the RB list. I realize you are unique and want to be original and I was just offering a suggestion...

It felt like Towles hit a ton of receivers this weekend. Blue and pTimmons will likely emerge from the group once we get into SEC play.

I honestly think that the result of the LSU Auburn game comes down to the fact the he chose Auburn over LSU.

Yeah, Core is from Auburn.
The coaches have raved about him in pre-season camps since he got on campus, but this is the first year he hasn't been buried in the depth chart by more experienced receivers. He's our starter in the slot. I've seen it said he's the fastest WR we have, but I've never seen a 40 time.
