If you stay injured your whole career the team isn't getting their moneys worth and that is what people base being a bust on. Give me a healthy average RB over the GOAT one that is on the bench injured all the time.

so what you're saying is running backs who put up big stats because of Gus' gimmick system will be bust in the NFL?
I can agree with that
Running the ball 80% of the time is a gimmick offense?
I'm not sure I follow your logic.

If you don't know that McFadden was a genuine talent and one of the best RBs in SEC history, you need to find a soccer board to post one. It'll be more your speed, trust me.

I don't know what he'll do in the pros, but the dude ran for 490+ yards combined against Bama, FSU and LSU. That's strong no matter how many times you run it. Bama was #7 in rushing D and he ran for 164 against them. He averaged 5.7 against FSU and Bama and they were #1 and #4 in scoring D. The average per carry is what counts and he averaged over 5 ypc against the three best defenses he faced. Of course, I'm not even including what he did against Mizzou in the SEC Championship - that record may never be broken.
Auburn definitely has a system that's tough to defend with the right people executing it. However, I don't think just anybody could put up those numbers by just running 25+ times against LSU, Bama, etc.

Barring injury, I think Tre will be a solid NFL back. He can cut on a dime. He's not a burner, but he is fast enough to get chunk yards. He definitely left his mark while at Auburn.

Mcfadden is one of the bigger busts in nfl history.

Lol Gus only coached mcfadden for one season, not sure you can say he was part of Gus's system like Mason was
They are completely different styles of backs anyways. Tre Mason is more of a ray rice type.

McFadden was the better college running back. Better speed, better power, better numbers. On the other hand, Tre is durable and a damn good running back in his own right with good numbers. Ironically, both running backs were products of a Gus Malzahn offense while in college.
The only way to know which is better will be based on Tre's success or failures in the NFL. So far McFadden has not lived up to his hype. If Tre does well, he will be the better of the two

Probably another career backup like Ben Tate or bust like Ronnie Brown or Cadillac Williams.
