I get being into every game even blowouts, but the anticipation in the week leading up to the game, nerves and uncertainty is an integral partof the joy I get from the game. Much of that is missing when you play games you are almost assured of winning.

You've experienced it against Alabama A&M before. Samford. Troy. Jax State. Don't act like y'all don't play scrub arse teams as well
We do. And it is at least 2 too many for my liking each season. I was referring to having scores like that in almost every game of an entire season.

everyone knows year end strength of schedule is what matters.
Agreed. UF could win the East. WVU could win the Big 12. K State could suck arse.

Since no games have been played, right now we discuss based on available info.

And last year, the available info said Auburn sucked. And TCU was great, etc. Kinda the point.

Gotcha. You can have your UGA games of last year and I'll take my Arkys.

I'm with ABDIW on this. Also agreed on the bullshite cupcakes. Should be two power5 teams and 9 game conference schedule

I guess it's different for other people. Don't get me wrong, for the big games I'm even more hyped. But I get just as antsy wanting to see Bama make teams quit as I do wanting to see Bama win the big games. It probably stems from a few things.

1. Being too young to truly appreciate the Gene Stallings era

2. Hearing stories about the Bear

3. The dark times

Combine those three, and seeing Bama dominate is just really fun to me. As is waiting to see it. Everyone is different though, and no one is more or less of a fan because they get into games/the hype for games more than others.

I'm for a 9 game conference schedule, OR the 3-5 thing. The 3-5 eliminates divisions, but you play other teams more often. In four years you've played home and away with all teams, AND you keep rivalries.

When everyone else starts scheduling consistently tough OOC, I'll be all for Bama doing it. Power 5 vs Power 5 is fine by me. I wish Bama could develop an OOC rivalry with one of the other traditional powerhouses. ND, USCw, Michigan, or tOSU.

Plus there is no guarantees that Florida will be a poor team again, or that Tennessee doesnt take a step forward this year and go bowling

No doubt. I have probably only evolved to where I am on this scheduling issue in the last few years. I've realized more specifically what I really enjoy about the game and the process, so to speak, is as important as the result to me.

I don't know, I kinda miss the 90's when teams like Georgia and LSU were automatic wins.

though I think even the most committed AU fan would admit that a play that has only occurred ONCE in the past 30,000 college football games was a bit unique.

Wasn't that game the third time that happened that year.

Think so. And it happened in the NFL as well. Its not luck if it was planned out by the coach and executed to perfection.

Auburn couldn't "beat down" Alabama when Shula was the opposing coach.

The last time Auburn beat Alabama by 20+ was 1957.

Alabama has beaten Auburn by 20+ THIRTEEN times in that span.
