What is it about Mississippi State and Alabama basketball that inspires inclement weather? I was at that SEC tournament game, hopefully The Hump holds up better than the Georgia Dome did.

If a tornado comes as close to the Hump as it did the Georgia Dome, then I've got money on the Hump imploding.

I was sitting close to the floor on the bowl side, it was eery seeing the hanging scoreboard swinging 10-15ft back and forth. Everyone started scrambling out of the bleachers across court and players ran into the stands. When we finally left, there were pieces of the roof laying everywhere, I picked one up and wrote the score on it, still sits on my bookshelf.

The best MSU tornado game was football. I think the opponent was Troy. I was listening to Jack Cristil call the game on the radio. He's talking about the torrential rain and then the tornado siren starts going off. Jack tells his partner Jim on air. I don't know about you but I'm getting out here. You here their chairs moving and fast footsteps. Then nothing but tornado siren for about 10-15 minutes

I was at the Friday night game of the 2000ish Starkville Regional when a tornado touched down in the research park. My youngest who was probably 10 at the time was under the stands in the batting cages and I couldn't find him. As I recall, they were trying to tarp the field and one of the field crew got caught under a wind gust and threw him up in the air. Broke his leg when he landed on the ground. That was the Notre Dame regional when we won in walk off fashion.

MSU has had way too many "tornado games"

That Troy game in 2001 was played in a pond. Never seen anything like it. Davis Wade drains pretty well, but it couldn't handle it that day.

We played Notre Dame in baseball at home a couple years after the Regional. Tornado canceled the Friday night game. Manieri had a great quote but I can't find it.
