fake news rarely works on intelligent people that require some sort of proof when a person on a message board or a blogger or an op ed guy on a TV show that depends on ratings for their paycheck.
opinion vs news. one could write a book on this topic. many people BELIEVE ANYTHING THAT SUPPORTS THEIR OPINION. the proliferation of the internet and social media created "fake news" because lots of people do not challenge what is said (posted, written, etc).
it is NOT news, it's GOSSIP. The national enquirer used to be laughed at by intelligent people with common sense. now, the president of the united states fricking quotes them and some idiots lap it up. I used to think women were the main gossip mongers of our society; now I think men are as bad.
