I'm a Miami guy, is this the Richt we posed to get used to? Half arse cooting and runner up when it matters? Diaz was a garbage hire. I'm sick of watching The 305 kids dominate the SEC. Collins Cooper Ridley, many more.

I'm bitter yaya.

IMO Richt was a bad hire, Orgeron Mullen Strong or Schiano.

I lulz. I've lurked many years two things I never got was Richt lost control of...and ruben Randel hate. I just don't see Miami being Miami again under Richt.

10a$$ee pushed our shite in. Who gets they shite pushed in by 10a$$ee?

In recruiting? A lot of people. On the field? A lot people bout to get some. FWIW, thinking Miami's mediocrity has been any better than our past mediocrity is funny shite.

Prof we both suck the last 15 years.

I guess I wanted reassurance Richt is over rated.

The talent that has been leaving the 305 for what ever reason is beef part 2

I'm sure all 4 of the fans who show up for Miami games will love Richt.

Sounds to me that you miss the cocaine cowboy era. Sorry, my friend, that time is never coming back.

Yeah, it would be easier to get Don Johnson back for a new Miami Vice run.

Cheaper too.

I don't think Richt is overrated but I don't know what your expectations were/are for him. I think he's a solid coach (I think his window for being a great/championship coach has closed but I could be wrong on that) but recruiting at UGA is about as easy as it gets. You don't have to do much to get a class full of 5*s there and he definitely benefited from that.

That said, Butch is one helluva recruiter. We've sucked and he's been able to pull in two top 5 classes and a top 15 class (it would've been a top 10 but rivals never re-evaluated one of the players like the other services did and so his 2* ranking there drags the class average down) despite that. There really is no shame in losing to him on the recruiting front as that's one area where he is 100 percent proven.

Thanks for the convoy Prof. I've lurked many years, Jawga fans said he was burt and we could have him. Personally Richt Diaz ain't the fix. The Mizzou DL corch best hire.

Oh hell, y'all picked up Coach Kul? That's one crazy good hire. What he did with lesser talent at Mizzou was amazing. He should really start stacking your DLines. I'd be thrilled with that hire if I were you. He could seriously change Miami's outlook and boost Richt's ability to get to the next level. He's been that good in the past.

As far as Richt and UGA goes... They had a lot of seasons together and most of them were really good ones. UGA just always found a way to drop a game they shouldn't or they'd have a rash of injuries derail their season. Over time, I think a lot of fans just got restless but it wasn't as though Richt was a bad coach. The worst you could say about UGA under Richt was that they were a really good program that for whatever reason didn't have enough division titles and SECCG appearances.

Pretty much this. It comes down to expectations. If you're expecting him to come in and in year 1 or 2 have you contending for the playoffs, you probably did too much coke. He should be able to bring da U back to a consistent level 9-10 wins, which realistically should be enough for you to challenge for the ACC most years in your division. Richt had mixed results in rivalry games and border wars. Great record against Auburn, and decent against Tennessee (though the majority of that was during their downtrend), but not good against Florida and ended up allowing SC to take more than their share out of that matchup.

The upside is, Miami is pretty easy to sell as a town, so you should be able to recruit some guys from up north that want to get the hell out of the snow. At that point, it comes down to showing that he can produce some results on the field to start keeping those Miami Dade boys in town rather than watching them go to the SEC. You'll know what you need to know after next year's recruiting class. Pay attention to who you're recruiting on the OL and DL... and who you land. If you end up racking up some talent along the LOS, he can do impressive things at Miami. If not, I'd assume he can be good but never great.

Its a Miami thing.

It simply doesnt have the appeal most SEC schools and many ACC schools have to recruits.

With how bad Miami has been underperforming on the football field despite multiple top 20 classes over the past few years, give the man some credit. He's trying to bring a dying program back to life.

He had two months to recruit to Miami. Of course it wasn't going to be the best. I think their recruiting will pick up next year.
