Ok, looks like you were right on but we have turned a profit in years past. I would blame it on the recession plus that is for the 2010-2011 academic year, not this most recent CWS season.

A greater summery of Arkansas athletics, including impacts on the NWA region is available here

sometimes it's best to walk away, even if making fun of the special kid is easy.

Oh, so y'all have turned a profit in the past. Gotcha. Good to know.

Oh ok. Do you know when those numbers will be out? I'm interested to see how they look because the Hogs got hot during the postseason no doubt, but I don't know what kind of impact it had on last years numbers.

No, I figured they would be by now but I couldn't find anything

I mean your numbers were for the 2011 baseball season, generally seen as a rebuilding year (though we lucked into winning the west on the last day of the season) when we didn't go to the CWS

Right, and last year's regular season Hogs (which is what would have had the impact) were 16-14 in conference, as opposed to 15-15 the year before. You're not talking about some great leap there.

Yes but they were expected to be good, which would drive turnout. Since we don't have 2012 numbers, we don't know if it did or not

Expecting to suck and go nowhere would naturally have lower turnout, hence 2011

In the scope of the millions spent to run a baseball program, coming up $200k in the red is nothing anyway

Oh I agree completely, it just gets old seeing non-sourced statements accepted as fact. Most schools likely lose a lot more than $200k on baseball.
