I think Robinson has 4 sacks now since he got two on Saturday. Take out Dareus' sacks and that's probably as much as the entire teams total since Saban has been there. At least it seems like it.

i should add for other TF playing: Both Demarcus Robinson and Ahmad Fulwood at WR have gotten some PT as well.

Starter
NG - #90 Harold Brantley. Taking over big shoes of 1st round Sheldon Richardson. Looks like a season veteran.

Backups
NG - #97 Josh Augusta. Has the ability to plug and penatrate, but still needs more conditioning.

CB - #11 Aarion Penton. #3 corner. Holding his own and can tackle too.

Future Start
QB - #7 Maty Mauk. I've said many times, our season relies on the health of James Franklin. Hopefully, Maty can help me eat my words.

I'd say A'shawn Robinson on defense.

kid has 17 tackles so far, and 4 of them are sacks. hes on pace for 34+ tackles, 10+ TFL, 8+ sacks as a true freshman at DE on a 3/4 line. those numbers so far compare pretty favorably to what dareus did in 09 an 10.

How are these guys?

To be perfectly honest, they're doing much better than you'd expect the 3rd and 4th string TFr running backs to do.

The past 2 games they've been our only running backs after Marshall went down against UT. Green is the more shifty of the 2 and more explosive, Douglas is a throwback type player. He's not real fast and doesnt' have moves, but the dude doesn't go down on first contact. He loves contact and bowls over people.

I have no problems with them because they're filling their role the best they can. But obviously there's going to be a big dropoff from Gurley/Marshall to them.

Are y'all expecting Gurley back for Vandy? I read an article about him yesterday saying he is almost ready.

Hill didn't play significant snaps until las Sat

A'Shawn has had the most impact IMHO leads the team with 17 tackles, 5 TFL & 4 sacks (1 on Manziel) and a lot more disruption than I can remember a DL having as a TF

OJ Howard has been solid with 156 rec yards and also done a nice job blocking (better than I expected tbh)

And A'Shawn is on that pace basically playing both inside on 4 man and outside (where he is a monster) in a 3 man as a 5 tech

Upshaw played DE on 4 man and outside rush as an OLB that yr

Typed this out and went to do something before hitting submit thx narddogg

I said it when everyone was wondering it A'Shawn would move over to OL and there was no way then in my mind because as people are seeing now he is the first true 5 tech Saban has had since Dareus and it allows Bama to play more 3 man and put more DBs on the field. Things he can do from both the DT in a 4 man and DE in a 3 man are unbelievable because of his size and agility

He could go down as one of the greatest DL to ever play at Bama and possibly in the SEC before all is said and done on his 3 yr career

Tre White and R. Robinson surpassed upperclassmen at the corner positions and it has made our defense better.

Kendall Beckwith is a beast. He caused the strip on Murphy Saturday at the end of the game. He gets pressure whenever he's in at DE and he lines up at MLB as well.

Expecting? not sure. I think I can speak for most UGA guys around here in saying that we hope he doesn't play in Nashville and uses the bye week to be 100% for Florida. JJ Green and Brendan Douglass should be all the running game UGA would need to beat Vandy.

Robinson blankets opposing WRs. He's a beast.

and while White has been burned a few times for the most part he has had good coverage.

Interesting comparison with Nkemdiche and A'Shawn

A'Shawn has more sacks (4 to RN's 0) more TFL's (5 to RN's 4) and more tackles (17 to RN's 15)

It's close but that's interesting to me

Tony Conner is a BEEEAAAST though
