Oh look another Auburn fan that's mad that the IB isn't as big of a game as the 12 SECC... The fact that you listed anything other than the 12 SECC 1st is ridiculous.

That's only because that's the only SECCG you remember.

I remember the 1999 game extremely well, but I don't remember the talk leading up to it. Was anyone really expecting Alabama to win? I just remember being surprised at how soundly we beat Florida.

I honestly don't know how people would leave it off a top 5 list.

I guess because LSU wasn't highly ranked and people tend to slobber over Game of the Century type matchups between top 5 ranked teams.

Tennessee was #2 and a virtual lock to go to Pasadena to play for the national title. LSU trailed by 7 at the half and our starting QB was knocked out of the game in the 2nd quarter. In the 3rd quarter, we managed to get a couple of field goals while the defense shut down Clausen. Then we capitalized on two Tennessee fumbles to score two touchdowns in the fourth quarter to put the game away.

that game also gave the nation "Junior and LuLu."

Well, Bama was ranked #7 and Florida was ranked #5. They had identical (9-2) records coming in.

So I'm sure it wasn't a shock that Bama won. It was definitely a shock that they spanked Florida so badly though.

It's especially amazing in hindsight considering how bad DuBose was in 2000.

I remember that we weren't expected to win down in the Swamp earlier in the year. I thought I remembered that few expected us to beat Spurrier twice in the same year.

2008 might be considered, considering how close it was until the 4th.

2004 doesn't belong on the list. Tennessee never took a lead and each time that tied it or got within 3, AU responded with a TD on the very next drive.

Brer is correct. The win earlier in Gainesville was a stunner as Alabama had just lost to Louisiana Tech either the prior week or two weeks earlier.Bob Bockrath had been fired and after "DebbieGate" the La Tech loss and Bockrath's dismissal made DuBose's job more precarious. Shocking win.

But Alabama came on strong in November and the win in Atlanta in and of itself wasn't surprising. But I think Florida may have had less than 100 total yards. The domination was surprising, not the victory.

1992 Alabama/Florida
1994 Alabama/Florida
1997 Auburn/Tennessee
2001 LSU/Tennessee
2006 Arkansas/Florida
2008 Alabama/Florida
2012 Alabama/Georgia

These are by far and away the best 7 games, in terms of stakes and how entertaining the game was from start to finish.

Top 3 imo (in order)

2012 - Alabama/UGA
1992 - Alabama/UF
1994 - Alabama/UF

2004 was bad. We totally dominated and led by double digits the entire game.

2012 bama-UGA is #1.

1997 AU - UT is #2. That was an electric game with D Craig pulling a combo of Johnny Manziel and Cam in a crazy game that Peyton Manning won in the final seconds on a come from behind drive.

I remember the entire panel of experts, including Terry Bowden, saying Alabama had "zero chance" at beating UF twice in the same year.

2013 Auburn/Missouri was very entertaining and much more competitive than the final score indicated.

Both teams pretty much traded scores the first 3 quarters and Missouri just couldn't keep pace in the 4th.

And is a game that many people forget. Yet I don't know why.

- It featured two Top 10 teams (#3 Alabama [11-0] and #6 Florida [9-1-1].)

- It was back and forth with a healthy balance of offense and defense.

- It was the first SEC Championship Game to be played in Atlanta.

- It was decided by one point and was in doubt all the way into the final drive.

Here are the highlights from that game:

1994 SEC Championship Game Highlights

It was truly one of the best games to be played in the history of this conference.
