Spikes is getting no respect in these top 5's... that guy is a beast and the Defensive captain... sheesh

He has been great when healthy, but he has been hurt a lot this year and missed some time. Plus, Norwood and McClain have been just as good, if not better, while not missing a snap. If it makes you feel any better my 6-10 would be Spikes, Berry, Tebow, Tate, and Hardesty.

I have had two encounters with the man you speak of. The first time, he punted the ball in the stands after scoring a pick 6. The second, he danced to the music of LSU's band. Cocky little shite.

I am holding a grudge until this matter can be settled.

I frickig forgot about Berry. I think he might be the best overall NFL prospect, but I don't know if he has been as much of a difference maker this year though. Top 10 easily though

Monte's had to use him in run support mostly because of our weakness at linebacker but he's having an awesome year, just not in position to get ints thus far.

Here's something else to consider about Tebow: he's the reason the Gators are so successful (about 60% I believe) on 3rd and 4th down conversions. This buried stat has been crucial to an otherwise ordinary Gator offense. No other player in the country keeps drives alive like Tebow--and no drive, no score.

In terms of measurable '09 performance at the midway point of season:

1) Mark Ingram (Heisman frontrunner IMO)
2) Eric Berry
3) AJ Green
4T) Brandon Spikes
4T) Rolando McClain
4T) Eric Norwood

..tough to seperate those 3 LBs..they're all beasts having huge seasons

I just don't think that its as clear as you do. I like Tate (and it was hard to pick between him and Dixon). Tate has the statistical edge so I went with that.

See above. They are all great players and an arguement can be made for each. Curran is the SECs leading tackler. 10 tackles a game and you are atleast "in the conversation", imo. Too bad he's surrounded by mediocrity.

I hear ya..just think the other guys are better ..Hardesty is having a good season, while Tate does have more yards in a wide open offense

Hardesty gets hurt a little by the fact that his defense is better than Auburn's and it makes the game less wide open, plus he has no passing game so the box gets crowded against TN. He impressed me against FL

agree ..but that D is so bad it's hard to take him based on that. I've always liked Rennie's game

Greg Childs should get some love. Him and AJ Green are the best receivers in the league.
