So you're telling me that if he was a 3* and had the exact same career up to this point he'd be anything other than just another guy?

He's an average SEC DT. Maybe he'll have a big year this year.

Please go look at Haynes stats...wonder why Haynes isn't getting the publicity Barnett and Garrett are?

It's because Haynes stats are produced by Nkemdiche dominating.

Yeah but OJ wasn't on every 1st team AA list like RK is.
I do think he is a solid player but just not as good as a lot of people are making him out to be.

Edited that post to be more clear. He had a total of 35 tackles last year.

Please share with me how you know I know nothing about football to think a guy with only 35 tackles shouldn't be ranked the #1 player in the SEC, when he doesn't rank top 5 at his own position?

Here's why...you haven't watched his film. You just look at stats like every other middle of the road fan. Please name 5 better DT's in the SEC. Holy hell, I just read that and all I want today is for you to list 5 better DT's in the SEC. Please. Go.

Barnett had 21 tackles and 6 sacks combined against Alabama, Ole Miss and South Carolina.

Garrett had 8 tackles and 2 sacks against the same three teams.

He gets the press because he was the #1 ranked player in the country coming out of high school.

Yeah. Not because he shredded Alabama's offensive line last year. Totally because of his high school ranking.

Correct. I'm just saying that it does happen.

One game? Hell, Jarran Reed had 15 tackles against LSU last year while playing Noseguard for an average of 2 plays out of every 4 downs.

He's overhyped based on his production. There's no way to even argue against that rationally.

He also had 3 sacks against OM, 3 against USC, and 0 against UA. As well as 15 tackles against the Rebs and Cocks and 5 against the Tide. Myles only had three tackles against the Tide with no sacks but that's mainly because CRob is a freak.

Based on production and making their team better? I already did.

Nkemdiche might end up being the #1 overall player drafted next year, but it will be because of his measurables and perceived talent - not his production.

He's vastly underperformed as far as his contribution to his team.

There's more than one game. If he sucked then he wouldn't be getting all of the attention he's getting.

Why? He plays on a DL with 2 hybrid LBs and a DT that is 6'1 250lbs. Stop. Think. Do you really think Nkemdiche should be racking up on the statline or swallowing the OL for those undersized guys to get after the ball? I'm going to go with whichever one helps us win, which is the latter, of course. That is why a lot of people on here are dummies and an almost 100 year old NFL team is going to pick him in the Top 3 of the next draft.

I never said he sucked. Just overhyped when considering his level of production.

Give me one reason he should be listed as the best player in the SEC? What has he done to show that?

Hell, Carl Lawson had 20 tackles, 14 solo, 7.5 tackles for a loss, 4 sacks, a forced fumble and fumble recovery mostly coming off the bench as a true freshman.

Why is he making All-American lists? I think Freeze and anyone who has any football knowledge is more than happy with his production thus far.

Barnett let Sims get away on what should have been one of the easier sacks he had all year.

Not his fault. Sims had a supernatural ability to avoid sacks.

Barnett had 20.5 Tackles for loss. 18 in SEC play
Garrett had 14 tackles for loss. 3.5 in SEC play

RN isn't close to either

Why didn't he even make the 2nd team Coaches All-SEC team?

They play against him and watch his film. They didn't think highly enough of him to even have him on their two-deep.
