That's the rumor I'm hearing.
The new AD is still going to have a hard time getting a good coach to move to that cow town.

Agreed. Opening Drive is ok to listen to depending on the segment but I listen to them a little. Finebaum is Finebaum. Still haven't figured out the Matt and Scott thing. They talk sports but a bunch of random stuff to. It's at least entertaining to listen to in traffic if the radio isn't playing a good song

Can he throw the ball...or at least scramble for 10 yards?

That's pretty honest.
I'd have to say, given the two in their respective positions - defense/offense, I'd take Chiz over Gus as a coordinator.

Why do you think he hired them? Honest question.
A program as solid as AU - in the SEC - should never have to hire a coach with a losing record, nor settle for a coach with one year of HC experience. AU didn't HAVE to settle for those guys (Jimbo could have been had at the right price when AU hired Gus). They chose to. I'm wondering why AU fans feel that happened.

Anyone with a brain knows that. Even a clown like tony Kurre. The real question is why are you listening to the opening drive?
Exactly.

Familiarity is what I think. I also don't think Jacobs is savvy enough to identify candidates that are outside his network. I honestly think most of the people on the Auburn page here could've made the hires he has.

No you wont. Not hating on you but Auburn's track record of hiring says otherwise.

So the ad is on the sideline with a clipboard and headset?

Unfortunately you are probably right
Pretty much every other candidate when JJ was hired was much more qualified to run an athletic department than him.

Maybe so, but I'm friends with a guy that was a GA when Jimbo was on staff at AU. He and Jimbo are still tight. Look back (if you care to) at my posts around the time Gus was hired. I was being told that Jimbo would go back to AU as HC if the offer was right. AU could have had him, but didn't aggressively pursue him. Jacobs should be fired for that reason alone.

We were in at the very least talks with him, if an offer wasnt made, in 2012

That's not true. I mean the aggressively pursue thing might be true but jimbo wasn't coming to auburn. But then again it's kind of silly to aggressively pursue someone when they've told you no.

The show after Finebaum sucks

Have you never turned down a job that you really wanted, but you couldn't accept it under the terms it was offered? Happens a lot.
My point is that AU didn't offer him the job. He didn't want to interview. He didn't want the AD meddling. And he wanted a specific dollar amount. Had AU agreed to those things, Jimbo would have been your coach, Jameis would have been your QB, and you wouldn't be preparing to possibly have a new coach in 2017.
