This would imply that 1.) It was "thuggery" at all, 2.) Richt is actually the one committing said thuggery, 3.) "A lot of Georgia fans" represent all Georgia fans, and 4.) that there is any validity to the statement "A lot of Georgia fans seem to support Richt by convincing themselves he is some sort of saint."
You sure you want to run with all four of those assertions? I'll let you backtrack and reword the statement if you'd like.
