What was the deal with Spurrier pulling Garcia and why didn't Lattimore get more carries in the second half?I'm just curious because I found the decision making in the 2nd half to be suspect to reason.

running game was going nowhere and passing was abundant...why run.

Exactly. Same reason why Lattimore got 37 carries vs UGA. The run was working so well for the entire game no need to change it up, was the opposite for AU.

As for Garcia all Im hearing he was a little doozy after those hits (some he put on himself by always going shoulder 1st) + Spurrier was probably just frustrated.

Lat had 33 yards on 14 carries for the night, we shut down their running game.

Garcia was pulled because SPurrier had a "perfect" 3rd down passing play where he rolled Garcia out and he was supposed to throw to a receiver in the flat. The receiver was covered moderately well but Garcia elected to hold onto the ball and run. Spurrier didn't mention anything about poor decisions, not reading open receivers or anything else. During his interview he nearly went into a tirade about this but held himself back.

Yeah that's true about the running game but they still could have used it though on first downs to try and manage the game a little better when they were ahead.

Spurrier wanted to keep the foot on the gas, also he had to. His defense never got our offense under control. In the 4th quarter I knew we had it won even if they scored as their defense had not shown they could stop us offensively, the only thing was to make sure our offense didn't stop itself with penalties.

I texted a buddy at halftime saying if Au doesnt commit any turnovers in the second half we win. We just could not get out of our way.

So I guess SC just got in our own way with Garcias fumbles and Shaws INTs and we're really the only reason we lost.

Of Auburn's last 6 drives 3 were for touchdowns,2 were missed field goals, 1 was a punt. South Carolina's defense had not proven it could stop the offense at that time. Had Spurrier forced a punt on say 3-4 of those it would be a different story but Auburn was within scoring range on 5 of the 6 possessions. I'm not taking shots at USC's team I'm just pointing to facts that might explain why Spurrier made his decision.
