Given the fact that the school either fired him or violated his contract, Tuberville has full reign to say whatever he wants. He wasn't given 5 million to keep quiet; he was given 5 million because that's what Auburn was contractually obligated to provide when they dicked him over.

Wow. If that wasn't a plot twist I don't know what is.

Actually, it's not fact. No one knows what went on in the meetings between Tuberville and Jacobs. IMO, Tuberville was asked to fire some of his assistants, refused and he was fired by default.

Never said he "had" to keep quiet, but it's just good manners. Mike Shula had a lot he could have bitched about when he was fired, yet he just took the money and kept his mouth shut. Yeah, his dad spouted off, but you haven't heard him say anything.

Actually, it's fact. Whatever the underlying factors were, one of those two happened. Either he was fired for whatever reason, or he discovered that Auburn had violated his contract. If he had quit, Auburn wouldn't have paid him a dime.

I don't need to know the cause to know the result.

The one thing that I wonder about Tubby is how long ago did he see the writing on the wall.

I really don't think he wanted to hire Franklin. I wonder when it was obvious to Tubby that AU and him were moving in opposite directions.

Who knows. It is obvious to me that he was not excited about football in '08 and not sure how excited he was about it in '07.

It's not the same. Fulmer(can't believe I can speak well of him) loved Tenn. He played there, was an assistant, and then the head coach. His daughters went there, everything he had was wrapped up with University of Tenn. Tuberville was at Auburn for 10 years, but he was never truly "an Auburn Man". Before you say it, I know Coach Saban will never be a Bama man either.
It's just not the same anymore, and that's on both sides. Look what we did to one of "our Bama guys". Mike Shula loved Bama, and look how we treated him.

Everybody calling Tubs an "Auburn Man" should look at his actions at OM. He fricked OM up the arse and didn't even have the decency to give them a reach around.
