RN was not double teamed most of the game against LSU. Didn't hear his name called once. I guess that happens, though, when your team has zero sacks and gives up 260+ on the ground

It is absolutely amazing how the 'best D Line in the nation' ranks among the lowest number of sacks in the SEC. God knows they aren't over rated though, RN is the best DL to ever grace the SEC. People try to put 5 O-Linemen on him, he just powers through and is graceful enough to let the QB live.

I mean sacks are not always indicative of a good/bad DL. Alabama a few years back were middle of the pack in sacks, but their DL isn't designed to get sacks. In a 3-4, your DL are there to clog holes, and the LBs are the one's putting pressure on the QB. But yes, in Ole Miss' case, they did neither. They have a weak middle of their line, they don't stop the run well, and they don't get to the quarterback. Their strength is their secondary. This is the main reason why I just cannot agree that their defense is on par with the all-time SEC greats. If you're getting gashed on the ground like that, you cannot call yourself an all-time great defense. Their DL basically just runs straight up field every play, not very creative at all.

OM fans won't agree, but depth is the issue. You can't play run defense at DT every play of the game. Someone has to rotate in, a lot, and they don't have the quality behind their starting DT's to hold up to the power running game.

I think they know this but didn't want to admit it would be an issue prior to the LSU game. I wasn't sold on LSU actually winning, but you knew LSU was going to test this theory because Les Miles is stubborn enough to continue to run right at you until the defense breaks. Alabama and Kiffin, to their own detriment, went away from the run when they probably should have just kept pounding.
