Players is the plural form of player. Player's is the possessive form of player fyi.

Was Dre ever a heisman finalist or SECCG MVP?

And wasn't he only arrested for having weed?

Jeremy Hill wasn't an MVP or Heisman finalist, either, but that's how this fingerpointing contest got started. But what I was commenting on was the point about Bama's top players knowing how to "act right." Just pointing out that they evidently don't all have that down pat.

But speaking of the guy from LSU who did earn those honors, what did he get busted for again? Fake weed, right? And was suspended, right? And then kicked off the team after that, right? Do you really think Kirkpatrick or McClain would have been booted the first time around, either? Please.

EVERY program has guys that get in trouble. Period. Even pure as the driven snow Bama. And whether you or I or the other guys in this thread want to admit it, sometimes exceptions get made for certain guys. It happens. It happened for Hill. There's no doubt about that. It has happened with FSU, Nebrasks, UGA, Auburn, Tennessee, and OSU, just to name a few from the past 10-15 years off the top of my head. I'm sure there's more.

As for Miles, he got burned pretty bad when he threw Ryan Perriloux off the team before the 08 season. That decision cost LSU at least 2 games, maybe more. I have little doubt that situation and the fallout of following a BSCNC with an 8-5 season played a role in what happened this year. Switching the shoe to the other foot, do you really think Saban wouldn't give a pass to his top player if he knew he would be sacrificing wins to cut him loose? Would the majority of SEC coaches? A couple of them might, but that's it. If you believe the majority would have acted differently knowing that losing that particular player that particular year would cost wins, then you are as naive as they come. Right off the truck.

As for me personally, I don't like what happened. Hill should have been off the team. But I understand what happened. It's the reality of big time college athletics, pure and simple. Last year, with a full stable of RBs and a top defense to cover for that kind of loss, Miles might have made a different decision. But not this year. Not with a hobbled Blue, underachieving Hilliard, and unknown quantities in Magee and Brazil. Not with a new OC and a poor passing game the 4 previous seasons. Certainly not with this year's very young D. Without Hill, LSU would have at least one more loss this year. Possibly 2. Say what you will, but that's the only reason there is.
