I can't remember what exactly but UGa did something really cool when our catcher Zunino hit our pitcher in the head on a throw down to 2nd base a few years ago at the SEC tourney.

I was sitting in the dirt next to our dugout that game, probably 3 feet from the 3rd base line. You're right it was a freak play on a throw from the C that hit the pitcher in the head. That was a while ago but IIRC I think our players huddled up in prayer or something similar.

I think that is accurate. Nice gesture for sure.

Yep, I think Perno was the coach. It was very classy of them.

UK has done a pretty good job of dropping their first game in most of their SEC series. I wouldn't be surprised to see them drop this one. Then again, you're catching them off that UofL loss so who knows.

Should be a good series with the hated Mutts. Although we seem to get along in baseball. I can't remember what exactly but UGa did something really cool when our catcher Zunino hit our pitcher in the head on a throw down to 2nd base a few years ago at the SEC tourney. I don't know but I can remember someone saying there was good mojo between the teams. Unlike some of the other teams in the SEC.
They might have done something nice afterwards. I don't know. But most Florida fans thought the batter tripped Zunino on his throw making it go low and hitting the pitcher.

Brian Johnson (the pitcher) was DH our first game in the tournament and we were leading going into the 7th. Pollereno hung a curve and Johnson hit probably a 400 ft line drive grand slam to put us in the loser's bracket. I don't think he played anymore in the tournament. We went to Ga Tech and won the Regional there. Went to UF for the Super. They won game one. We won game two and had the lead in the 3rd but blew it. So close!!!!

Yeah I remember that but it didn't seem intentional at all and I don't remember anyone saying it was.

By the way we have a nice little pitcher's duel going on.

Yeah, these two are unfair when they're on like this.

It probably wasn't. But you should have been sitting in the stands. I witnessed it. Florida doesn't bring a big bunch of folks to Hoover but the ones there were quite vocal.

We got Tyler in the second game. We didn't touch him. We didn't do anything until we got in the bullpen. We didn't get Puk. He was having back issues.
