What makes you think Ed O will be a good HC at LSU

Miles deserved better. I'm afraid we just Nebraska'd ourselves.

He probably deserved to at least finish out the season.

And yeah LSU has taking a big risk here. Fire a coach 4 games into the season. A coach who has won 77% percent the games in a very tough conference (Best percentage in LSU history correct?) Won two SEC titles, won a national title and made it to a second national game. He just had the misfortune of being in the same division as Saban. But he is the only coach to have beaten him three times while he has been at Alabama.

The LSU handled this last season and firing him mid-season may scare away big time coaches. Nebraska has yet to recover and look at Tennessee. Huge gamble.

What path is that though? 8-4 or 9-3 every year?

What makes you think Herman will?

Herman has a proven track record and quality wins. Ed O doesn't

O took a sanctioned USC team to the PAC 12 championship beating #4 Stanford along the way.

He's been a part of two Miami NC teams and a USC NC team.

He's widely regarded as one of, if not the, best recruiters in the game.

His resume is more impressive than Herman's.

If LSU throws a Hummer to Coach O I am sure he would be there for life.

Great thread, thanks for the memories Les, maybe he'll take the Kentucky job in a few months.

Lost to UK and Arky and was way out of contention. Won the SEC with a back-up QB then a whole of teams ahead of them lost. Unreal. West Virginia lost to Pitt IIRC, that was a shocker. Then LSU and the Tigers whipped Ohio State to give them their second BCS title game to an SEC team in back to back years. Weird year.

On the same day that Herbsreit pulled the famous "Miles to Michigan" stunt.
