1995 Nebraska - destroyed everyone, including a 40-point win in the national championship game against Florida

2001 Miami - undoubtedly the best defensive team ever - How good? They would have gone 9-3 if the offense had never scored a touchdown.

2019 LSU - beat 7 ranked teams behind Joe Burrow's greatest individual season in history.

I think any of these three have an argument.

Only others I can think to add would be one of Bowden's team at FSU, the one headlined by Weinke or Ward

Bama 2020 as well should be included but would have loved to have seen that team with full stadiums in play

that would be my top 5 with other 3 mentioned

The Alabama game always makes LSU fans crave attention when it comes to 2019.

Nebraska
Miami
LSU

I’d say Nebraska first because they run an O that most don’t play against and I think the U has enough power on both sides to take down LSU.

lol no. This is just one of those memes that continues to get repeated so often that people do it just because.

I'd say there's a hell of a lot of doubt, considering they defeinitely are not the best defensive team ever. You are a victim of the simpleton's approach of looking at the NFL careers of people that happened to be on that roster at the time, and not looking at how each of those players were in the actual year of 2001.

Of course no one here wants to give credit to the team that destroyed 11 straight SEC teams in a row. No cupcakes on the schedule. Record 6 first round draft picks.

2020 Bama would wax 2019 LSU.

Pretty sure Vince Young would like a word with you.

Snapped USC's 35 game winning streak

Played the game of the century in USC's back yard

Oh by the way the only time in history two Heisman winners lined up on a team and they still lost

That you list 2001 Miami over that is laughable. They might have been a better collection of talent but that team got lucky Solich came in #2 in the BCS

This is #1 and it's not debatable.

Miami is #2, and then it doesn't matter because the drop off is so huge.
