May be the dumbest thing I've seen on here.

Clowney is going to be beast in the NFL. Anyone with eyes that watched our games this year could see he was triple teamed constantly and they hardly ever ran to his side of the field. Also, since him taking plays off is a constant topic here, name me a player that doesn't take plays off. GTFO with this bull shite. The dude is a freak stud and everyone will see it next year. The hate is strong here.

apparently one woah play gets you to New York as a Heisman Finalist

There was a ton of talk this pre-season about Clowney being a front runner for the Heisman based on his previous year's impact.

I wish Mathieu was still at LSU. Sigh.

Definitely one of the most overrated players in recent memory.

How is that a problem?

I know a couple of highly regarded "freak" athletes that seemed to get dinged for work ethic but were unstoppable anyway ie LeBron, Shaq, Moss. I'd want him on my team regardless just because of how talented he is. Period.

meh, Clowney was double and triple teams most of the season, then teams would run away from him to the opposite side or wait to make long passes when he wasn't in. We still had a Top 20 Total Defense and were #4 in the NCAA. It was a solid year. Also, Clowney had an A rated combine and will be drafted #1 or #2 in the Draft, so it's all good.

Lattimore didn't have a career ending injury, he's getting paid by the 49'ers right now and is the heir apparent to Frank Gore. You're trying to troll too hard. Try less.

ETA; almost forgot, 35-21, and that was even w/o Clowney.

Because he made the Heisman ceremony based solely on his ability to defend passes?

No punt returns, no forced turnovers, gave up big pass plays at inopportune times, never got to the quarterback on several blitz attempts and missed a tackle on the fake field goal.

All that taken into account is not why he compares to Clowney as stated earlier. It's this:

He's made 3 plays in his career that made you say, "whoa."

A guy with horrible work ethic, lack of following the law, and a 1 good play per year type player....

Clowney will be a stud in the pros...anyone who looks behind the espn crap would see that.

What other DL has a camera solely on him every play, lists stats based on when he's in or not etc? Of course he has flaws, if any DL was subjected to that level of scrutiny the flaws would be obvious too...couple that with unrealistic expectations and he had a bad year...
I don't buy it that he's lazy or a problem and I'll trust the nfl evaluators on that vs this group of biased tards...

He was overrated from the get-go, as I said many times the past 3 years and was laughed at. He has tons of talent, but not the whole package of intangibles that make up elite players.

He disappears for stretches of the game, raising some questions about his level of conditioning. I realize you're a GameCock fan so you're going to be completely oblivious to this.

Not to mention his poor display at the combine.

Clowney is a blue chip player who seems to be very lazy. He kind of reminds me of Jemarcus Russell in that sense. If he plays 100% on every play, Clowney will be a superstar in the NFL. If he sandbags it no one will remember his name in four years.

Actually, I'd say we have an advantage when analyzing Clowney because we watched every single snap, every single game.
ESPN tells you he sat out during games and shows highlights of him with his hands on his hips so that's what you believe to be the case.
