What did I say that was false?

That last year's AU game was bigger than the 08 bama game, essentially. I mean if we're playing the semantics game then this is the biggest game since last week. SEC east team, big rival, players back, yadda yadda. But c'mon man. You say we don't win the east if we didnt' beat auburn..well, we don't win the east if we don't beat vandy or kentucky either. That game was only "big" because it was Auburn. They weren't ranked high (and were NR after we won), they were having a rough year, and they weren't expected to do much.

The thread is "when was the last regular season game that was this big (ie, this much hype, this much importance, nationally relevant, etc). That game pales in comparison to the 08 bama game.

And troll ended, because there's not really a respose for that. It took 2 minutes of my day, not a big deal.

I'd say it's the biggest game for us since the 'Bama game in 2010.

Florida away in 2010 for the east and the SEC Championship game vs. Team Cam were bigger games than the Bama game.

If we don't beat Bama earlier in 2010, the game at UF wouldn't have been for the East. UF already would have wrapped up the trip to Atlanta. But I agree that because obviously we did win the Bama game, the UF game was very important. And the SEC Championship is not regular season.

Does anybody remember Florida in 2001? I feel like that game was huge for us, but then again, I was only 16 at the time. Just seemed like a lot was riding on it, and we crapped the bed big time.

I agree....this is the biggest reg. season game since the Bama game....

but then, the 2010 UF game, which came after the Bama one, was also monumental for the program in several ways. UF wasn't as highly ranked, but was a top-25 opponent. The game was at The Swamp, where USC had never won before.

And the winner of the game would decide who would represent the East Division in the SECCG: USC had never won the SEC-E before.

So, for the unprecedented nature of what would be achieved by beating UF, that game could be argued as being more important than the Alabama win...

So then, to recap:

This is USC's best regular season game since EITHER:

the 2010 Alabama game, which we won...
the 2010 Florida game, which we won...

for UGA, the best since:

the 2008 Alabama game, which they lost...

hmmm....

Also, USC and UGA have played each other 3 times previously in Williams Brice when BOTH were top-25 opponents, which would be argued as the top games of importance when both played against each other. USC is 3-0 in those games...

hhhhmmmm......

Winning the east at 5-3 and ranked in the 20s doesnt compare

Ehh. It depends if we win and what we do with that moving forward. Its hard to determine just how important a game will be in the present. Just have to wait and look back.
Right now, definitely top 10. If not top 5. This will be the first or second game ever of top ten teams facing off in Williams-Brice.
