A sleeping giant near fertile recruiting grounds that hasn't really done anything since the early 80s is on the rise...oh wait Clemson stole your thunder

we are about to sign the best recruiting class in our entire history...with a first year head coach coming off a 5 loss season.

If that's not cause for concern for the rest of the east (at a minimum) you've got your head in the sand.

Our class as of right now, with a few big fish left out there, is already higher scoring than any LSU signed in the les miles era.

Don't worry it's not just you, it's a lot of people, but I'd be worried to about what kirby is doing.

Pruitt was fine last night. It was Saban's very own DBs that HE coaches getting fricking torched all night. He's used to having his secondary being able to out-physical everybody and last night it was Clemson doing the bullying in the secondary.

It was not sustaining a drive that was the deciding factor I feel like, d played very well but was gassed at the end

Dream team baby!

Where have I heard this before. UGA has potential. Kirbys doing the right things so far for the most part. But most coaches get a good recruiting bump in their first couple years (spare me how much better this class is than all your other ones...ive heard it). He looked over his head this year in a lot of games. I know you guys like to think its a sure thing that hes going to be the guy, but its really not. We shall see.

well you've never seen UGA recruit like this before and that's a fact. Sorry to break that to you.

you've heard but do you listen? Richt never came close to this kind of class. "Well what about AJ GReen! Or stafford!" Yeah, we did get those kinda guys before, to go along with a handful of 3 stars and maybe 1 or 2 OLinemen. We've never put together a class of this caliber before, period. And if it wasn't for hte all-time elite classes bama and OSU are putting together (which are pretty much indescirbable) we'd be running away with the #1 class.

Yeah, it was his first year ever as a head coach. In dabo's 2nd year as a head coach he went 6-7 but he's doign alright now.

I dont' think any of us think he's a "sure thing". All we do KNOW for sure is that we have never in our history recruited like this, that much isnt' even debatable. As for kirby's talents as a coach, yeah it's only been 1 year of course the book is still out. But at the very least if he fails it aint gonna be for lack of talent. Richt brought in top 10 classes, whcih will win you 10 games year. Kirby is bringing in top 3 classes, which are what get you to the playoffs. Exciting times.

I really have heard it. There are whole threads on the recruiting board dedicated to it. You have a great class coming in. I get it.

That's the exception, not the norm. Unrelated to Kirby at all.

The smugness displayed by a lot of your posters has convinced me that yes, a lot of you do believe its a sure thing. Maybe not you personally.

And im not saying he wont work out. He might kick arse, but literally no one has any idea. Its just funny to me when people act like they know for sure whats going to happen months down the road in the ever-changing landscape of CFB. Best of luck to ya'll gong forward

You are assuming a lot in that a top 3 class gets you to the playoffs. Biggest assumptions are that your coaches have the ability to take advantage of that (not proven yet), the recruiting services have evaluated appropriately (far from science) and that top classes are related directly to wins.

Also you are saying top 3 classES. This is one class. A good one no doubt if you believe the recruiting services. Itll take more than one and Kirbys ability to do it more than once is just as unproven as his ability to lead a championship program to this point.

Not trying to rain on the parade but pinning your hopes on recruiting services to rank your talent and correlating it to championships is not exactly science.
