And Watson is the best player they faced all season. This was Saban's best coaching job ever. The OL and QB had serious deficiencies and Saban and Kiffin schemed around these problems for two years.

Pretty much. Saban pretty much flat-out admitted that he didn't think this team had what it took to win out after the Ole Miss loss.

Look a lot of credit goes to Saban but those calls to Howard and that onsides kick were gold! The INT and those calls did Clemson in!

If Clemson wasn't the best opponent Bama has faced in the Championship, then who was?

Clemson beat South Carolina by 5, Louisville by 3, and Syracuse by 10.

2015 Clemson isn't some legendary team. Just because 2015 Alabama wasn't as good as 2011 or probably 2012 Alabama doesn't magically make their opponent better.

2011 LSU was the best team. 2015 Clemson was the best offense

Onsides kick was Saban, and they practiced and prepared for it everyday. The passes to OJ were Kiffin, he and his staff in the booth saw the mismatch and attacked it.

2015 Clemson put up the best fight in the championship game, if that's the question.

I don't see how that makes them the best opponent, if we're judging that based off how good of a team they actually were.

Clemson was damn sure the most competitive opponent Bama has faced in the Championship game thusfar.

I tend to agree here. Does LSU losing 0-21 or Clemson losing 40-45 make one better than the other? And lets face it, LSU held Bama to 5 FG's, those teams played 2 games and had a combined 10 FG's and that late TD by Richardson.

2011 LSU beat Bama's 2011 NC team. Something 2009 UT, 2012 ND & 2015 Clemson did not do.

It's pretty simple, actually.

Sure.

That really isn't subjective at all. Unless you want to put an asterisks by the Texas game because of the McCoy injury.

The best team Alabama has faced in a title game wasn't this Clemson team. However, since I'm sure this thread was somewhat of a troll directed at LSU fans, I'll just stop right there.

So would an opponent be considered better in the Championship game if they couldn't muster up a point compared to an opponent that took blow for blow and challenged the entire game?

It was their toughest game, but I believe 2011 LSU and 2009 Texas (with Colt) were both better teams.
