I love the traditions of The University of Alabama. I love the band playing Yea, Alabama! on the quad. I love Denny Chimes. I love how The University has grown and has built so many new buildings, and that every single one of them has added to the beauty of our campus. I love going down to River Walk to watch the Black Warrior flow and catching a view of the rowing team practicing. I love BDS and being there at least an hour pregame to watch it fill up with the Million Dollar Band and people carrying crimson and white shakers. I love that the streets have names like Paul W. Bryant, Gene Stallings and Wallace Wade. I love houndstooth and how it's used, not to worship Coach Bryant, but to honor his memory. I love lingering on the Walk of Champions and reading the names of so many notable college football players and coaches who have passed through Tuscaloosa. I love that my son chose to be an Alabama alum, too, and that now he understands how it feels to have pride in and love UA like his mom does.

1) The people I met at my time there, and the alums I've met since. Some of the greatest, fun, intelligent people I've had the pleasure of being around. There really is a HUGE difference between the sidewalk fans and those that attended the University.
2) The campus. It's gorgeous.
3) The greek system. It's a great recruiting tool to draw out-of-state kids to Tuscaloosa, and, there isn't a nicer set of Fraternity/Sorority houses in the land.
4) The girls. Hot as frick.
5) Gallettes on gameday. For a brief, fleeting moment in time, you feel like you're back in college. The faces may age a bit over time, but, there's nothing like a yellow hammer on that patio about 2 hours before kickoff and you just know the Tide's about to beat that arse.
6) The quad. It's as picturesque as it gets, and, provides a hell of a lot more tailgating space than other tent epicenters in the SEC.
7) The professors. I've had some great teachers in my day, and most are those I had at UA.
8) Denny Chimes. If you visit Tuscaloosa, look at the names of the captains and their handprints. It's an incredible library of some of the best football talent in college football history.
9) Our uniforms. Watch an Alabama game in 1970. Or 1980. Or 2014. They're the same, and by damn they're clean as hell. It's as iconic a uniform as there is in all of sports.
10) Our attitude. Yeah, when we lose we bitch and moan because we are never supposed to lose. Did you see how we acted after we beat Mississippi State last year? You would have thought we lost. Losing sucks, and judging by our "effort" in the Sugar Bowl in 08' and 13', it's national championship or IDGAF. I'll take that any day.

Because we all know the classy, model, shoeless swamp things in Louisiana would never commit such an atrocity. NEVER! Nothing even close!
How did his nuts taste, BTW?

I love that they are responsible for the fact that everyone thinks they have like 5 or 6 National Championships...by being busted by the entire college football world for exaggerating their accomplishments. Had they not exaggerated, they would just be celebrated for being the best and having 11 national championships or whatever. No one knows...they just know it's way less than Bama says it is. It's like the guy the claims to have a $100M in the bank but actually only has $80M. When he admits it's only $80M people think he lives in his mom's basement. And that's entirely his dumbass fault

Pat Trammell, my third favorite SEC player of all time.
1. Number 34 (Georgia)
2. Marcus Lattimore (South Carolina)
3. Pat Trammell (Alabama)
He couldn't throw and he couldn't run. All he did was out-gut the opposition and beat most of them. We lost him too early at age 28.
Coach Bryant
Joe Namath
Snake Stabler
Lee Roy Jordan
Coach Bryant beating the hell out of those Yankee teams in the late 1950s and early 60s.
