Specifically this is for the day before the Alabama v Michigan game. Needing to set something up for Friday afternoon/night. We are staying in Downtown dallas.

Do any Bama fans know about concerts/comedy shows that are in town that night? I cant find anythign of note on PollStar.

Good restaurants/sports bars we need to check out? We will want to watch the Tennessee Game that night. Also open to some nice restaurants.

TIA

- Whoop Michigan's arse

- Laugh at Michigan fans

- Laugh at Texas fans for the 09 title

- Laugh at aTm fans for thinking they'll be relevant in the SEC

- Laugh at Auburn because no matter where you are it's always fun.

I think there's a Medival Times in Dallas right near the Crowne Plaza-Downtown. We didn't make it.

But seriously, you don't know what to do in Dallas? How about the JFK Museum & the area surrounding Dealey Plaza?

EDIT: Whatever you do, don't bother with ESPN Radio out of Dallas. They are absolutely, positively HORRIBLE.

Very little to do in Downtown, but Uptown (Mckinney Ave) is about a mile north and an easy taxi ride. Go to bars like Renfields, Idle Rich, Blackfriar, the Den, Trophy Room.

Katy Trail Ice House is a must for day drinking (Friday afternoon or any part of Saturday you have open). It is a few blocks off of McKinney. Probably the most "Texan" bar in Dallas; huge outdoor patio area, lots of tables, misters, lots of good beer on tap.

Really all there is to "do" here is drink, eat, look at tail, and watch sports.

While Deep Ellum is making a comeback it's not quite there yet. I say Knox-Henderson area. Barcadia, Old Monk are my personal favorites.

Dowtown pretty much sucks. Stay away from the Victory Plaza area. People say it was cool 20 years ago, but it is dead down there. You need to go uptown around McKinney Ave. if you are looking for good restaurants and bars.

Knox/Henderson is okay too (Capital Pub and J Blacks)....

If you want to drink and see hot chicks, go to Uptown or Knox/Henderson. If you want a more "laid back" vibe, some of these other recs are okay. Just depends what you are looking for.

god this was easily the best part of dallas before it all went under. havent been back in a few years, but last time it was just empty buildings. Tree's was my favorite venue for a looong time.

eta: old monk is great.

J Blacks has become too hip hop for me. A good dive bar is the Slip Inn just down the street. Great place to finish the night off.

There's a new microbrewery down there and the area is experiencing a bit of a comeback, especially among hipster types. It will be cool again in a couple years I predict.

Unless you consider Buffalo Wild Wings a bar, then no, theres absolutely nothing near the stadium besides places like that.

I'd hang out in the areas of Dallas that have been mentioned until you're ready to go tailgate. Don't waste time eating or drinking at a restaurant/bar in Arlington.
