Meh, it's a fun, whacky tradition that gives the fans a reason to get together after a win.

I think it's a cool tradition. Part of what makes college football great.

I doubt fandom played a role.

That's some high tech shite.

Seriously though, I'm sure it was a drunken idiot thinking the toilet paper would just burn and didn't realize that it could potentially set the whole thing on fire. This was stupid, but we've all done some stupid shite while drinking in our day. Calling for his head is a little extreme. Now, if they show he had intent and wanted it to burn the whole tree down, that'd be different. I'd bet dollars to donuts that was not his intention.

I don't understand what the big deal is. We used to always catch the TP on fire when I was in undergrad. They liked it because cleanup was fast. I think the city stopped it mid 00s for safety issues.

I don't see an Auburn fan doing that. Either LSU or bama fan, IMO.

Of course you don't. But the truth is, it could have been some bitter auburn student who hates football, or a crazy Updyke type Bama fan, or a crazy frat boy who wanted to impress his frat brothers, or any number of nutjobs from any school or walk of life.

There are actually a lot of fans of opposing schools that live in the Auburn area. I don't understand why an Auburn fan would light it on fire after a W.

Regardless of fandom , the guy is an idiot and probably needs to be evaluated.

I remember it happening as well. Just know the paper actually burns so fast it doesn't harm the tree. At least that is what I was told, but that picture looks a little hot.
