I predict a lot of "upsets" this year. But few games could reasonably be called upsets. These 2 teams have some very nice players and coaches. What a way to start the season.

Hot Carl also said Gene Chizik was a great hire in 2009, and anyone who disagreed didn't know shite about football.

There are threads where plenty of well known Auburn posters say Chizik is just as good a coach as Saban

Both Ole Miss and Vandy are at least middle of the road.

at least?

LSU, Bama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Texas A&M. Those are 6 right there easily better. At best middle of the road would be more appropriate

Gene Chizick won a national championship at a place that hadn't been relevant since 2004. His tenure may have ended badly, but I'd say even the most cynical Auburn fan would consider it a success.

I still remember those threads where the Auburn fans were happy they were ditching the spread and moving to Loeffler's pro style offense. Good times.

Ole Miss could finish as high as 3rd in the West, but will probably finish 4th-5th

4th in the West is a ranked team.

Well to be fair, they thought the D would improve.

They are not the worst teams. They just both have a decent offense but no defense. They are both screwed with they play any good offenses. Especially Ole Miss when they start playing all the running teams in the West.

And though I did like to Chizick hire,I'm quite sure I didn't think that those who didn't agree with me didn't know anything about football. I just felt like having been an LSUfan while he was DC at Auburn, and having lived in Austin while he as a UT, I felt I had a different perspective than those who only saw his record at Iowa State. And again, since he was hired, they have won the national championship, had the Heisman Trophy winner and #1 NFL draft pick. And after two subpar years they wound up with arguably the greatest offense mind in college football as their coach. But yeah, Chisik was a shitty hire.
