Bring on Les Miles at Head coach, with Ogeron ad DC...lol
If they could do it at LSU, they could get at least 1 or 2 at Bama

What people don't understand is that the decline was already very much in effect when Bryant resigned (same with Bowden and Paterno). Program is in great shape for the next guy

Bear Bryant won his last national championship in 1979 and retired three seasons later after the 1982 season.

Nick Saban won his last national Championship in 2020 and is now retiring three seasons later after the 2023 season.

You don’t honestly believe Bama won’t skip a beat after the GOAT, do you?

We lost to Southern Miss and Auburn in the final two games of the season. Not remotely the same situation

You do realize that Saban didn’t take over after The Bear

You also realize that Alabama won a national championship without Nick Saban post Bryant and before Saban LSU hadn't won one since the 50s right?

Depends on how many players transfer away with Saban leaving.

Whoever it was within the Alabama administration that went against Saban's recommendations to not allow Learfield on campus created a situation where the HC has lost a considerable amount of control.

I hope it was worth the kickback money because it is very likely that the Alabama program will have some serious buyer's remorse in the not too distant future.

Well, Bryant's last game was a Liberty Bowl loss so there wasn't much to decline from.

Alabama beat Illinois in the Liberty Bowl in Bryant’s last game

Bama went 8-4 and 5-6 the two years after he retired. They didn’t lose less than 2 games for 8 years

Let's be honest. Is a win in the Liberty Bowl really much better than a loss in the Liberty Bowl?

I know Bama fans have selective memories, but methinks things didn't go exactly as you recall:
AFTER THE BEAR:
Ray Perkins - 32-15-1 .677
Bill Curry - 26-10-0 .722
Gene Stallings - 62-25 .713 Nat'l Champ
Mike Dubose - 24-23 .511
Dennis Franchione 17-8 .680
Mike Shula - 10-23 .303

**Mike Price - 0-0 .000

**Mike Price - Caught at strip club using Bama Credit card. Hired & fired - no wins, no losses

I beg to differ. Lots of single mothers made a years worth in one evening. Mike Price changed their lives.
