If history tells us anything October is the month that will tell us how good Florida is as well.

I feel pretty confident UF will look better next week.

They get Lewis and Tabor back from suspension, Worton may be back in the line up, and Cleveland was cleared to play. Goolsby will probably be feeling better too (he was playing hurt) and I think the RB situation will be more settled.

I'll be worried if UF doesn't look better against a bad Kentucky team in week 2.

Florida looked like shite no question - but I will tell you that it was a weird game to watch - in the sense that I was bored out of my mind. The TD that UMASS did get was farily fluky - Florida gave them 40 yards of penalties on one drive.

But really, UMASS was so bad they never felt like a threat.

I could have been deluded, 100% possible I admit, but I was never worried.

As I said, I can't tell you how to think, and since I have no emotional investment in the game, I can't really claim I had strong feelings about them possibly losing. Also, to be fair, I only watched about half of it, and that was the next day, when I already knew how it would turn out. So my argument has to be taken with a grain of salt

Plus, they did almost beat us a couple years back. There is that. If I argue they pushed you to the limit, it makes our near loss just slightly less humiliating. Sigh.

IMO there are too many early season factors to judge anyone before 2-3 games. Remember these guys are 18-23 year olds playing football on national TV. Give them a week or two to work out the nervousness and then we can see how everyone looks. UF will look better. Hopefully Aggy will too.

Apart from the first series in the 2nd half where they turned it over on downs, UMASS didn't make it past midfield once even though it was tied or only a 3 point game. So no, it never felt like they were going to sneak a win.

UMASS was surprisingly scrappy, they may be better this year than people thought. Or UF might only win 3 games. hard to know after the first game.

I don't understand why you would talk trash about UF. Arkansas played a LT team that basicly lost every key player from last year , played their Backup QB and you still only won by 1 point.

Yea I was never even the slightest bit worried. I just wanted Eddy 'He15man' Piñeiro some more kicking opportunities

Surely you jest. Tennessee won only because Appalachian State missed an extra point (scored 2 touchdowns to 1 for UT in regulation). Appalachian State's 11 awesome wins last year were against teams like Howard, Old Dominion, and Georgia State. I think they have been in the major college division 2 years now.

Worst win >>>>> Loss

At this point, I'd take a crappy loss over App St. than a close loss to Clemson or Texas.

Tennessee keeps winning, App St. will be moot.

Auburn and Notre Dame can keep winning too, but their losses will still be in the conversation.

A win is a win no matter the score you win by.
Just win baby!!!!!

Far be it from me to defend Auburn, but they looked like a better team than Tennessee did, especially considering the competition.

This. And anyone who says differently is either a fan of team that lost this weekend or has only been a Bama fan since 2009

I remember Auburn fans spinning the same kind of thing after they squeezed by JSU in the first game last year. We see how that turned out.

edit: Funny that Vol fans keep downvoting my comments, as if the fact they don't like to hear it changes the facts of the matter.

Florida has ridiculous problems on offense and they're gradually losing the defensive players that Muschamp put into place. I think it will be a long season for Florida.

You lost me at the think part pal...but let me enlighten you....this game was NEVER in doubt....we threw the ball 49 times to give our young QB Del Rio plenty of timing reps...we had almost 5 yds a carry also in a driving freaking monsoon. UMass had 180 yds TOTAL and a 1.3 per avg carry rushing and a grand total of 46 yds rushing and if not aided by 35 yds in flags they would have never scored.

This was more of a spring game than our spring game..dont let the score fool you and why dont you watch the whole game before shooting off? Our defense creamed them.

Now go eat some raw pork....your womenz are fat and ugly.
