You'd be the only one.

Maybe, but this would be the year to do it. Another year under Freeze and Wallace. The West loses 3 great QB's and a Heisman finalist RB for a 4th team.
Bama and LSU have big question marks at QB, A&M needs to field a high school level defense first, and Auburn is the most bi-polar team in football.

I can't believe I heard a poster seriously say "If Ole Miss and MSU were in the East, they'd be contenders"

Coker will be a good qb. Dude is a junior. I think it's time we all realize bama will be no slouch next year.

And a previously 3-9 Auburn won the West last year.

How is this an SEC only discussion? I have said nothing to imply that.

It's pretty clear that the comparison being discussed in the other thread is SEC West versus SEC East. You are just creating a straw man argument in this response thread.

This I will never understand. All that Georgia talent and they perpetually underachieve.

We haven't underachived in a while

2013- ridiculous amount of injuries and Grantham happened
2012- one play away from national title
2011- performed better then expected
2010- complete underachiement and waste of a season

Wow, you made your own topic about this? USC has not won anything in 20-30 years, or even ever. I don't keep up with shite programs that have been decent for the last 4 years. Quit living off of uga and florida

The East's two premier programs won less than 10 games combined last season.

It's cyclical.

Even if he sucks they will be no slouch with the rest of the talent they have. Same with LF, I want to see them on the field in their current offense, before I will say they will do good.
TBH, I have picked Bama to win the West.
I was only saying, if Ole Miss was gonna do it, this is the year till Saban and Miles are gone.

So because that's what's being discussed in an entirely different thread, that must mean that's what I'm trying to dispute.

I'm not trying to say the East is better than the West, I'm saying the East is better than some of y'all think.

How the frick is this so hard to understand?

Exactly, you are making a straw man argument. People were saying the West is better than the East, and you turn that into people saying the East is Conference USA level even though nobody said that or thinks that. Straw man.

The East had two top 5 teams at the end of the year last year.

I know PLENTY of teams that would have wanted South Carolina's or Missouri's success last year.

This year? Personally I think the 1 and 2 teams will be USC and Georgia again. The east doesn't suck it just doesn't have consistent depth right now. USC is the only consistent team and they average 9-11 wins per year. I don't think Muschamp can turn Florida's offense around this year. I don't know how Georgia is going to rebound from going what, 8-5 (?) last year and with losing Murray. I'm not sold on Mizzou yet, they lost a lot of talent. I think Tennessee will be back it'll just take longer than 2 years and Vandy & Kentucky are Vandy and Kentucky.

All of that to say this, if Ole miss and Mississippi State played in the east this year, yes, I'd like their chances to finish in the top 2-3.

East will improve

Florida and Tennessee will be back to regular form soon

Georgia will continue to be 9-10 win team

USCe will be dangerous as long as tOBC is there

Mizzou will be a factor too

If people think that Ole Miss or MSU could contend for the East, it's definitely CUSA level.
