The Walk of Champions

Lots of dissing the grove and the football coach at Ole Miss yet major magazines dispute it.
Now the Walk of Champions......which I think was erected in honor of the undefeated 1963 football team.
It's a sidewalk, IGMOS, and for Ole Miss fans it is enough to honor those who suit up and play for the Ole Miss Rebels. Winning a national championship, world series, of final four is not the sum total 0f what embodies a champion. Perhaps you question this because your view is too narrow.
When I think of the walkway, I think of Chucky Mullins who embodied the soul of a true champion. He showed us how to never give up and with a courage I doubt may of us possess. He was in every sense a champion. His legacy of courage and perseverance at Ole Miss should humble anyone no matter what team you pull for. The walk of a champion for him means way more than a trophy.
And consider Archie Manning....it took a lot of courage to return to Ole Miss after his father's suicide. That was a turning point in his life. He is the epitome of a champion....never glorifying himself but humble and thankful. His list of accomplishments is too long to list, but I think he is proudest of his role as Dad to three sons. I admire him. Again, there is no trophy for overcoming and moving ahead.
The Walk of Champions is a path that reminds us that courage, class, and a winning attitude qualify one for champion accolades.
I am sure you will continue to tear down Ole Miss and hope for its demise. That tells me you have no idea the spirit and love true Rebel fans have for all who play to win for Ole Miss.
