His rushing stats and above average for a qb but hardly heisman attention worthy.
Rushing
134 attempts 839 yards and 13tds.
so he rushed for more yards and touchdowns than johnny manziel did last year but they're only "above average"? you also seems to be discounting the fact he missed two games and split time with another QB. now, i'm not sure if he'll live up to the hype, but ignoring the potential is clearly a biased opinion because he plays at state. you also conveniently framed your statistical argument to make him as least impressive as possible. against auburn he threw for 200+ and ran for 130 and 2 TDs. Against A&M he threw for 150 and ran for 150 along with 2 TDs. Against USC he threw for 230 and ran for 80 with 2 TDs. Also, 7 TOs in 11 games played is pretty good.

He averaged 269 yards a game in conference play. The only two teams he didn't get to play at all in conference were Bama and Arkansas. He also only played pieces of some games. So let's take his SEC stats over the course of 13 games. It comes out to 3500 yards and it still doesn't take into account if he were to play a full year by himself.
Almost all of his pass catchers had little to no play the year prior. They lost their top four pass catchers in 2012 and Jameon Lewis was 7th on the team with 10 receptions and 9th for 100 yards. He took basically a green crew, splitting time and still putting up 1940 passing, 830 rushing and 23 TDs in the SEC. He became their run game because they had none. He will be even better passing next year.
Oh he also received for 53 yards and 2 TDs so he had 2822 yards and 25 TDs playing 11 games with fairly green receivers and no other running game but himself, while splitting time, in the SEC.
IMO, he was a dominant in what he accomplished.

Why post stats from one game? Show the whole season boss.

Dak has a bunch of visible tattoos and is probably a thug

Bo: More completions Higher completion percentage More passing yards More rushing yards Dak: Less interceptions/fumble More YPA Dak's performance has been so overhyped. It was probably his worst game of the year. Thankfully Bo shite the bed and made it easy for him to just transition into a game manager.
You try getting timing right with a slew of green receivers and then having to be the run game because your RB regresses badly. Oh let's not forget, having to split starter practice and coming in during spurts of bad offense. Not to forget he didn't have a 4 star receiver in Moncrief and a 5 star receiver in Treadwell. You need to take everything into account.

I hope many more Mississippi State fans defend their QB in this thread. Heartwarming.

You can't reason with these guys. Besides, Bro has purty hair.

He seems like a tough kid.
Kind of like a Tebow.
He played hard after losing his mom (iirc)
I think he will do well if he can stay healthy.

42% of DAK aTAcKs passes were incomplete
Posted on 5/6/14 at 4:54 pm to Rebman601
So does that mean that 58% were complete?

He'll have to go pro when Bundy starts the Dak Heisman 2015 campaign.

Hate the fricker, but he actually has been hurt since basically the time he stepped on campus. He was supposed to be healthy last season but reinjured it Week 1.

So the traditional numbers lied. That's what football people will tell you. And that's what sports analytics people will tell you when you use the wrong numbers. When you use numbers that don't accurately reflect football performance, they will provide wrong conclusions. The right numbers incorporate the context of the game, can give better conclusion, and provide reasons they get to those conclusions. It is overcoming the misperceptions created by numbers such as "Passer Efficiency" that is the job of sports analytics......It also accounts for a quarterback's ability to scramble, his ability to run on designed rush plays, how well he avoids sacks, drawing and committing penalties, and all-important fumbles, which can be significant for quarterbacks. If Texas A&M gained 5 yards on third-and-4, Manziel's contribution to that play is captured.
That's your first post.....
