I'd put Georgia at #1. A&M has always had to compete with Texas.

Texas A&M won two football national championships in the offseason before we joined the SEC. That's pretty impressive imo.

Also, sorry about TCU's loss.

Illinois should be much, much better at basketball. If they could keep in-state talent in basketball, they'd be one of the two or three best programs in the country.

For a while they had a coach who didn't like to cheat.

UNC should be a lot better in football.

Similar situation (with the admin. there, not the coach).

I don't disagree, though this is sort of an offseason thread.

1. Illinois

This is a state of nearly 13 million and has the 3rd largest city in America. How in the world are they terrible in football year after year and middle of the pack at best in Basketball? This is a school that should be competing for championships in every sport in the B1G. How on earth can they not find 15 kids a year that are worth a crap in football and 3-5 kids a year for basketball to recruit? They should never have to leave the Chicagoland area to find talent. Makes no sense.

1. Georgia (they are the flagship school to one of best recuriting grounds in the country)
2. Texas A&M (1 national championship ever but they are little brothers)
3. Missouri (why have they not been better)

How is ASU number three? It's an over-sized school in the desert with a poor reputation and a big brother school in-state.

They have a distinct woman advantage. Its student population is quite the smoke show.

I looked and I don't see where he said that. In his explanation for A&M he mentions the main three sports, but nowhere else that I see. If I am wrong, please cut and paste where he says that. The thread title clearly says Athletic Programs.

And you need to check out the thread title, too. NOT football...ATHLETIC PROGRAMS. RIF.

1-Texas A&M. 1 title in the big 3 sports. Have all the resources in the world to be successful, are located in probably the best state for recruiting, and they still haven't won anything. They really haven't been competitive in basketball, baseball or football for the majority of their history. I think this is an easy number 1 choice, but I had a few reservations since they are lil bro of Texas.

2-Georgia. No explanation needed. They've never won jack and Georgia is a state with all types of recruiting advantages in baseball and football.

3-Arizona State. They should be more successful, and have had some bad years across several sports. Perpetual underachievers.

No to Georgia as an athletic program.

As far as football is concerned, there is Georgia, and then there is anyone else in the history of modern athletics. NO ONE compares to the unachieving prowess of the University of Georgia in the modern era.

MNC in football? Yeah, we have two of those.

I remember Dooley's 1981 team with Walker, Belue, and Scott but when was the other?

Please tell me you're not trying to claim '42. Ohio State won the AP but they don't claim it because of the war and the draft and the number if schools unable to field teams at all.

Don't be outclassed by tOSU.
