the fact that thread even had to be started shows how this rivalry doesn't matter

seriously, go ask fans of any team all around the country who Alabama's rival is...they will say Auburn.

Yet it was on ESPN primetime and has been all this board could talk about this week.

Alabama and UT will continue to play and fans of irrelevant no-history teams like ark and LSU will just have to accept it.

Of course it was. Alabama's ranked #1 in the country and is playing a conference game. If Bama wasn't ranked nobody would care.

Maybe they are right. Maybe we should be sellouts like they want us to and give up our 100+ year old annual game.

I mean Notre Dame gave up their Michigan game.

Oh wait, the rest of the SEC wants us to be Yankee pussies and sell out for a worsening of the game?

Well frick them! We are the SEC. We are Tradition. And the Pageantry of UT Bama is what college football is about. Also AU UGa, UGa UF. Just because Ark and Lsu started football in 2000 doesn't mean everything before it must be destroyed.

Is so mad.

TTSIO, has always been a streaky rivalry. Usually, teams rattle off 5 wins or longer. The win/losses usually never go back n forth. You'd have to look at 1920's to see games win/loss flip flopping back n forth.

However, it's a good and great rivalry. Lately, UT has been down but in the past the history of the game has been on of the best games in the SEC. Hands down. Same with UGA and AU.

it wasn't as big of a deal until the 2013 schedules were released. That fricking "rivalry" is screwing everyone else over scheduling wise and probably will until we go to 16 teams.

Bama and UT can still play every year without jacking up the schedule for everyone else

no one is saying you don't have to play every year...

LSU fans are so fricking ignorant when it comes to CFB history. Probably because none of you were fans until Saban.

NEWSFLASH: Tennessee has had streaks on Bama before and they damn near assisted the NCAA in getting Bama the death penalty. But we're still playing, because the history matters. Something LSU fans will never understand.

It is a rivalry like LSU-Tulane is a rivalry.

It no longer matters.

Alabama and Tenn fans don't even smack talk with one another.

It doesn't and never will to a program whose battle cry is "Wait til next year!"

To Bama and Tennessee, who happen to run this conference. If you don't like it, go back to the Big whatever where Arkansas belongs.

Well this argument really doesn't hold much water. Who in the SEC ,talent wise, is evenly matched with Alabama ?

LSU, yep. Who else? Well frick, just kick us out of the SEC since we don't have exciting and matched up games.

We've played USC from 09-10, UF from 10-11, UGA from 08-09....

This year the teams that 'Bama have played have just melted down.

Average margin of victory the last 6 years (all Bama wins) is 24 points.

But by all means they've been playin a hundred years!!!! we couldn't possibly change things up now, you know, since the college football landscape hasn't changed at all in that time span

History matters to those who have history. It's the foundation for tradition. In college football, history is tradition. Arkansas has a great track and field tradition/history. Football, not so much.

Beating a mediocre team is not a big win just because its an old rivalry. The're still mediocre.

there's plenty of other teams who have tradition who have changed conference, rivalries, scheduling, etc.

I mean with all the tradition Bama has why'd you stop playing games at Legion Field?

TRADITION!!
