Either you are trolling or you need to travel more. The playoff is about money and money talks. B1G and PAC were falling behind so this got cooked up to put them back in. Even a 2 loss B1G or PAC team will have a shot if they win their CCG. Too many eyeballs (money pits for the media) in B1G and PAC footprint to not attract their viewers. Look at the bio's of the committee and it is stacked in favor of the B1G and PAC.
If the SEC was ever getting more than 1 team in they would need a committee where the SEC had more power. The B1G and PAC had the NCAA monopoly from the 1950's to the 1980's and folks not old enough to remember this will be doomed to see the future till it is too late.

I was not aware of automatic bids. I thought there was a committee that selected the entrants.
I also don't think you will see 2 teams from the same conference in the current format.
Now if it jumps to 8 teams, that will frequently happen.
