Weren't y'all a part of the Confederacy?

East, Tennessee was overwhelmingly Union and tried to secede from the secession multiple times (we were occupied by the pro-confederate government in Nashville) when those actions failed we crossed into Kentucky to join the Union Army despite orders to shoot onsite anyone traveling that way (many died simply attempting the trip). Others waged guerilla warfare against the confederacy. In fact, we were considered not only one of the most pro-Union areas in the entire US but the freest soil in all of the US to talk about abolition (the very first paper in the US dedicated to abolishing slavery was started in East, TN). UT itself was also very pro-Union.

While true about East Tennessee being Enemy sympathetic, Knoxville remained True to the Patriotic cause.

Knoxville was split and then only due to occupying troops forcing compliance after the first vote for secession failed to garner support in the state. When we were liberated from the Rebs we threw a fricking party that absolutely blew away the Union commanders who in turn wanted to immediately arm us. Lincoln prioritized our liberation.

If you want 'enemies' look no further than the misguided people taking up arms against the United States of America. I'm glad I live in the USA not the CSA and will celebrate our Independence Day - the CSA was a four year mistake by aristocrats seeking to protect their economic interests.

Yes, but the implication was that we are super-uber-ultra-extra America.

This is an easy opinion to arrive at if you're willing to completely ignore the events that led the confederate states to take up arms against an overreaching federal government who was carrying out economic terrorism with government force and naval blockades. I don't have a dog in this North/South fight, but the facts are clear. The civil war started as a cold/economic war and it was started by the United States Government.

And Sherman's march to the sea was pure terrorism, and a war crime.

Better than saluting a wannabe military service

I see the American Flag, the U.S. Army Flag, and the U.S. Marine Flag in the A&M picture.

Please, enlighten us...which one of those two is a "wannabe" military service?

Fail rankings:
1. Ole Miss. No photo
2. Florida. Just some random game day photo.
3. LSU. Nothing USA related, but at least there's a flag.

Better than having a bunch of the Village People wanabes dressed in 1910 military garb prancing around the sidelines looking at the packages of the male cheerleaders....

The A&M Uniforms are a mix of WWII Army, ACU (which ends in 2019) and Vietnam-era.

Nothing from pre-WWI as you ignorantly claim.
